When it Kicks in

Hyunjin's POV:

Did I hear right?

This guy wants me to work for HIM?

"You must be joking."

"Do I look like a comedian?" He asked rhetorically.

"And who says I'll allow any of this? I can just tell my grandfather everything about who you really are and everything will be over for you." I said with my arms crossed.

"Just try. See if he believes a word you say. The old man trusts me more than he trusts you *laugh*"

I decided to ignore what he said and return to the point, "Tell me where Yeona is, I'm not leaving without her."

"Oh I think you will~"

And that's when my phone rang, echoing in the middle of the empty hallway.

When I picked it up, I found Chan's name displayed so I answered,

"Hello Hyun-"

"Hyunjin, this is bad! Your grandfather has been taken to a hospital as he doesn't look good!"

"WHAT?!"

I glared at Jinyoung as I remembered what he said about poisoning my grandfather.

After knowing which hospital he's at, I quickly hung up and turned to the smirking bastard standing in front of me,

"I'm going to see him. If you lay a finger on Yeona you won't live to take over anything okay?"

His grin grew wider, "Don't worry about her~ she's an important tool in my plan."

Then when I ran back to the elevator, I heard him shout behind me, "Don't bother hurrying there! He won't make it anyway!"

I gritted my teeth and left him while also feeling awful for leaving Yeona with him but I must make sure my grandfather is okay. I can't let him die like this.

Stay safe Yeona, I'm coming back for you...

Chan's POV:

After Hyunjin bolted out after Jinyoung, we thought the first thing we should do is to check on his grandfather.

Hearing what Jinyoung has been doing discreetly for all this time, putting poison in the Chairman's coffee everyday...

Even if it's mild it's still poison!

And judging by Jinyoung sudden action of plans, this means that the poison should start to act up any time by now!

We all reached his office and dashed past the attendant outside, ignoring her protests about not entering without permission.

"Mr. Hwang!" Changbin was the first to yell after entering his office.

We all ran towards him after finding him laying on the floor with his eyes closed and his breathing very weak.

"QUICK! CALL AN AMBULANCE!" I yelled to the woman outside.

And after taking him to the hospital, calling Hyunjin was the first thing to do.

Hyunjin busted down the hospital door as he quickly asked about his grandfather's name at the reception counter.

"Mr. Hwang is currently in the surgery room on the 3rd floor, VIP section-" The lady started but Hyunjin ran in the middle of her words towards the elevator in a hurry.

After reaching the designated floor, he rushed outside, looking around until he heard Minho's voice call him from across the hall.

He ran to them while panting. All of them, including Hyunjin's grandmother were sitting outside the surgery room with worry drenching their faces.

"W...*pant* What happened?!" Hyunjin finally asked between breaths.

"We went to check on him at his office, but found him collapsed beside his desk on the floor..." Seungmin explained briefly like they did to Mrs. Hwang who was sitting there with his hands on her face in utter worry.

Hyunjin went and sat beside her while rubbing her back in an attempt to comfort her.

"I don't understand...what happened to him all of a sudden? *sob* He was just fine!" She whined and Hyunjin and his friends exchanged looks.

Then Hyunjin started, "Grandma...there is something you need to know..."

>>After a small explanation>>

"W-What?" She gasped in disbelief, "Jinyoung? But..but he's his faithful secretary! He could never!"

"Believe me, that's what we all thought as well. No one saw his true colours until he showed us himself. He deceived us all..." Hyunjin held her hand as the old lady tried to absorb all of that.

"I can't believe how blind we all were..." she muttered, "How has he been adding poison to his coffee everyday without anyone noticing anything?!"

"I know..." Hyunjin sighed, "No one saw that coming. But let us just hope that grandpa will be saved and will get out of here alright."

"I hope so.."

Then Minho remembered, "Where is he though? Did you follow him? Did you find Yeona?"

Hyunjin sighed and his grandmother looked up again startled, "What? What do you mean? What's wrong with Yeona?"

"Jinyoung...er..he took her with him.." Jisung said, unsure if it's the right time for more bad news.

"Oh my goodness...what's happening to us all of a sudden.." she leaned back in her chair with a very sad and concerned look on her wrinkled face, "We should call the police! This has to stop!" She quickly said but Hyunjin stopped her from getting her phone out,

"No grandma! He specifically made himself clear that he would hurt Yeona if we think about calling the cops!"

"Then what should we do?! The poor girl must be frightened!"

"Luckily, he's still playing the nice role with Yeona and Yeona still believes he's her best friend and that everything is normal and fine so she still doesn't realise the danger she's in. He's a psychopath!" Hyunjin explained.

"Good. We need a plan." Stated Felix, "If we're going to catch him and rescue Yeona without the police then we must plan carefully what we'll do. Jinyoung must not feel anything we're trying to do or he'll hurt Yeona."

And Felix was absolutely right.

They needed a plan.

"And I've got a plan." They all turned to Hyunjin.
