You wake up, not expecting to have the worst day for a second time this month.
You wake up to your phone ringing. It's your manager. "Hello?" You say groggy.
"Y/n I need you to really do something about this rumored relationship stuff. I don't know if it is a rumor or not, I really hope it is. But if it's not, you need to lie or you can't continue under my agency."
"What are you talking about." You are still half asleep.
"Y/n these rumors are getting worse. And worse, I heard Lucas is gonna be releasing a statement soon about these so if they are true you have to be ready to defend yourself."
"Shit."
"Please don't swear at me."
"Sorry, sir. Yes, I will work on a statement soon. I've already started it."
Actually you finished it already. You worked on it with Jaehyun on call. He helped you write a strong defending statement after he told you he's sure that Lucas will release a statement. Even though your never told him you never called Lucas.
"Actually sir, I finished it. I can send it to you. Just don't release it yet."
"Yes send it." He hangs up.
"Uh, hello?" You look at your black screen. "Huh."
You set your phone down. You phone begins onto ring again. Without looking at the caller ID, you pick up. "Hello?"
"Y/n?" You freeze. "Hello? Is y/n there?"
"Lucas?"
"Um, hey."
"Hey?"
"I called to say I heard about the staff thing."
"Oh."
"It's not right and these rumors are getting worse and you and me both know the truth. I got call from your friend asking me to release a statement, along with you."
You furrow your brows, "a friend?"
"Yeah they sounded concerned and wanted to help. But anyway, Jaehyun told me to release a statement with you and address the rumors. Which I think is a good idea y/n."
"Yes, I did ask help from- wait Jaehyun told you this?"
"Yeah? He said that this is affecting you and I have no hard feelings towards you and I know these rumors aren't our faults and we should discard them as soon as possible."
"Okay. I agree."
"I have finished my statement. I guess we just have to wait for yours."
"I also finished mine. When should we release them?"
"Tomorrow morning?"
"I'm good with that. Actually, I have things to do tomorrow morning. Since we both have them done, why don't we do them later tonight. 8pm?"
"Yeah, that sounds good."
"Kay then. Until then."
"Bye." You hang up. Blah, that was weird.
You get ready for the studio.
You have time, so you decide to go out for breakfast. You go to your favorite restaurant in the area.
You finish and head to the studio. You go through security and they check you in.
You walk into studio 4. "Y/n! Is that you?" You hear your producer and director calling you right away when you walk in.
They turn the corner and find you. "You have some explaining to do." They hold up their phones and you see the rumors pulled up. "What are these?"
"They're just rumors, I'll be a-"
"We can't know and the fans and viewers don't know this. We can't have someone who is making a bad reputation for themselves on this movie."
"But I was going to say that I'll be addressing them later."
"Okay, but these rumors have been out for how long now and there is still no response."
"I was coming up with a solution and recently I ca-"
"No excuses, y/n."
"But they aren't."
"You say that but everyday you come in with an excuse. Oh, I'm late because I slept in. Oh but it's only five minutes. It's late and I have zero energy at the moment let me rest and I'll be back early in the morning. All you do is give us excuses. And now this excuse? It's not tolerable."
"But I've been working really hard and I don't see the problem. I do get tired from all the hard work and I apologize for being late. I won't be doing anymore excuses from now on."
"Y/n there will be no from now on." The director says sternly. "This has been an accruing thing and it's come too far."
"But I really don't see a big problem. I work very hard, but my co-stars are barely doing a thing and they are able to come as late as possible and you guys are still praising them. And they get to call breaks whenever and I ask to go home and rest once and I get shitted on."
"Y/n we are letting you go."
You are taken back, "what?"
"This has been going on for too long. We can no longer take it. You are bringing a lazy lead and a bad reputation to our movie. You can leave."
"But you can't just let me go. How are you gonna just replace me so fast?"
"We already held auditions and we got out new girl. And she was here before you." They point to a girl behind them.
You stare are her in disbelief. "I can't believe this."
"If you want, we can send you home for free, we can set up a plane for tomorrow, and you-"
"No thats fine. You can do things myself without any excuses."
"Y/n don't hold a grudge. Maybe we can restart in the future and you can have a new role."
"Fuck you." You turn around and head back to your hotel.
