Lesi
In Rico's office eating an apple looking out the window at the kids playing and running around. I felt sad knowing that the kids in our Safe Haven, or any kid out there had lives that were taken away from them. Some kids can't attend school and see their friends again, some kids won't be able to play Fortnite with their friends across the country, and some are going to have to grow up knowing that they have to sleep and move around more than usual looking at people that...are trapped inside of their body. There's really nothing that they can do about it either.
"Lesi!" I shake my head coming back into reality. I see Rico sitting in his chair.
"Don't scare me like that!!!"
"Sorry." He chuckles. "Is Arianna out there?"
"She went out the gate this morning. I don't know where."
"I saw you had a guy in the police station. I put Arianna with him. She was talking to him and keeping him company. Also why did you put him in a cell?"
"I don't trust that fucker..." I heard Rico's chair roll as he got up. He hugs me.
"You don't trust anyone. Tell me righteous leader, why do you not trust the man with the wound."
"You think he got that wound and walked away like a G?"
"I mean I got shot in my leg. And I'm still walking."
"That's different. You weren't a threat."
"How would you know if this man is a threat or not?"
"How would you know if Cookie is a threat or not?" Rico growls and moves away from me. "Exactly..." I walk away.
"She's still leaving."
"She's not and we can argue about this all day but not right now, I'm gonna go check on my dad." I wink
"Don't you mean my dad?"
"Nope he's my dad now he disowned your ass. I love you byeee!!!" I shut the door.
I looked around at the kids that were running around me.
"Lesi can you play tag with us?" Elena asks as I look around.
"Sorry Elena but not now sweetie I'm trying to figure something out okay." She looks down as I look at Rico's dad. "Have you seen Arianna?"
"No, I haven't, she has been gone since this morning."
"I'll make it up to you. I promise." I walk ahead to the small farm.
"I never seen you farm before." I look at him.
"Yea well Lesi, there are a whole lot of things that you don't know about me." He smiles while planting some more carrots.
"What's for dinner?"
"I'm thinking organic. I just harvested some potatoes."
"What can we do with potatoes? Make fries?" I chuckle.
"No." He laughs. "You can make a whole lot of things with just potatoes." I raise my eyebrow as I look over to the remaining water supply. I sigh. "You okay?"
"We are running low on water. It's only a matter of time before we run out and we are left with nothing." I look at the kids playing.
"I wish my son would go back to how he was. Rico has been using him for combat. It's been a minute since I've seen him basically be a kid." I look at him guarding the gate as I look up at Rico looking at his brother through the window. I felt bad because he was such a bright, happy boy and now I don't know anymore. Rico grabs his flamethrower and his mask and heads outside.
