The couple

Cold as the snow was her piercing stare
With face like ice she did glare

He watched her with tired eyes
Tired of her pointless lies

And then the tears came
Streaming down stubbled face

Salty and vulnerable he slammed the door shut
On their brief time together, the bond had been cut

And then she broke down in a sniveling heap
Head on his shoulder, she soon fell asleep

He didn't have the heart to move her to bed
He lie there along with her instead

Even though their hearts were sore
They loved each other evermore
