Cold as the snow was her piercing stare
With face like ice she did glareHe watched her with tired eyes
Tired of her pointless liesAnd then the tears came
Streaming down stubbled faceSalty and vulnerable he slammed the door shut
On their brief time together, the bond had been cutAnd then she broke down in a sniveling heap
Head on his shoulder, she soon fell asleepHe didn't have the heart to move her to bed
He lie there along with her insteadEven though their hearts were sore
They loved each other evermore
