The teachers assistant - Modern Albedo x Reader

Prologue

Collage. The thing everyone agrees is bittersweet. There's the fun in learning and pursuing your dreams. Then there's the cramming and late nights of studying that would always take toles on the human body.  

In Tayvat university, lived many young students who wanted to become many things. Veterinarians, lawyers, doctors, archaeologists and many more. Let's just say Teyvat Uni has a very wide range of courses. 

"Alright (Y/N). Since you are studying psychology, one of your fields of study is the mental health of young children. So we will send you to the district primary school to teach the children of the younger years. Understood?" 

"Yes Professor Dainsleif."

The blonde man nodded and continued with his paperwork, signalling your dismissal. You took the hint and left his office and headed off to your dorm. 

'Ok (Y/N).. Calm down, this is just a very incredible once in a lifetime experience that barely anyone has done before I think. No big deal.'

You were walking around the campus to the dormitories when you accidentally bumped arms with a certain braided boy. 

"Ah! (Y/N)! Didn't expect to see you here, you just came out of Dainsleif's office right? That must mean something BIG! has happened. Oooh tell me~"

Of course it has to be Venti. Your best friend and also the boy who teases you nonstop. 

Before you could even answer him, he started rambling on about wine and how he was going to treat you to a bar even though you are both knew that he did not have the money for it. 

Bonk!

"Owwie... That really hurt (N/N)..." 

"Well it was the only way to get you to shut up."

The teal eyed boy pouted. You playfully rolled your eyes in return. He laughed and started to tease you about who knows. 

"Ok ok! The reason I left Dain's office was because I have been assigned to go to a primary school as a teachers assistant to observe the mindsets of kids."

You sighed. You were not always the best with kids and they were the younger ones so they still have that inner demon inside of them. Venti took pity on y- nope. He took pity of the kids because apparently you were a scary monster? That got him another bonk on the head from you for sure. 

Venti puffed out his cheeks and he just.. ran off? You were confused but decided to be happy because you didn't have to deal with him. You you focused back onto your original goal. Getting yourself back into your dorm.

You were now back at your dormitory, you opened up the door with your key and plopped yourself on the couch, groaning. The whole "being a teacher's assistant" thing was exciting but you also dreaded it. 

You grabbed the remote and turned on your favourite anime. It has a new episode and you were dying to watch it the whole day.

"You'll never take me alive!"

"Oh really!"

You were about to throw the remote at the TV then you heard the door open. You turned your head to see your roommate, Xiao. He had a "what the hell are you doing?" look on his face. 

"Wha-"

"Cliff-hanger."

Xiao pinched the bridge of his nose. This wasn't the first time you had raged because of a cliff-hanger after all.

"Get ready, you teachers job is starting tomorrow you know."

Wait.. WHAT!? Dainsleif didn't tell you this! And how does Xiao know while you don't!?

Your eyes widened from shock, you darted to your room to get your suitcase ready, You packed a few clothes then the black and mint haired boy said,

"You idiot. You are not staying there for life, what I meant was to get a bag ready or something and go talk to Dain about this, Venti told me all about it."

Oh so that's why Venti ran off. 

You nodded and just as you were about to leave you told Xiao, 

"If you get hungry there's leftover almond tofu in the fridge, don't try to make some because we both know you can't cook for the life of you~" 

You left the apartment leaving an angry Xiao inside. You chuckled, you always knew how to get under his skin. 

You were heading over to Dainsleif's office when... nothing happened. It was a smooth trip. You opened the door to see the blonde professor in front of you. 

"Ah.. (Y/N). I was just about to go look for you, great timing, I needed to tell you some more details about the job." 

Dainsleif invited you inside to take a seat, he explained all of the details and what year level you were going to be working in. 

"Understood?" 

"Understood." 

He smiled, this was the first ever time you have seen him smile before, he had a very soft smile and it was incredibly cute. It seemed the smile was contagious because you also let your lips tug up. He sat up from his chair and put his hand on your shoulder. 

"Make us all proud." 

"Yes sir!" 

He chuckled at the formality, the other side of him was a side you didn't want to see go. So with determination in your eyes, you left his office and waved goodbye.

You returned to your dorm for the second time to see Xiao with his back to you, eating all of the leftover almond tofu.

"Xiao!"

The short boy froze. He just finished the last morsel of the desert when you arrived, you had made a ton, and I mean a ton. Of almond tofu, and Xiao just had to eat it all in one go. 

You grabbed him by the ear and started to scold him saying "You will become a plate of almond tofu one day!" and "I will start to put lettuce in the tofu if this continues!" 

Poor Xiao. He has you scolding him like you were his mother. He backed down like a kitten, if he had ears you would have been able to see them droop down. 

After about 5 minutes of scolding the poor boy, you let go of his - now turned red - ear and got yourself ready for the big day tomorrow. 

The day that you would become the teachers assistant.
