CHAPTER 4- THE MEETING

ELIJAH

A phone ring wakes me up from my sleep. I try to hear when it was coming from and reach it out by my hand under the duvet. I slide the call and angrily answered the call

"Who the fck is this? It's so early for a call!"

"I'm sorry Sir Elijah, but this is Mr. amari. I forgot about the time difference from our location. Do you want me to call you later?"

I yawned. "No need. I'm sorry about yelling. Do you have anything for me?"

"Yes I do Sir. I follow your boyfriend like you asked me to here in Amsterdam. He's been staying at Hotel Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam. He is actually alone here without his personal assistant."

"He's traveling without guards? That's a first, so where did he go?"

"That's, the thing Sir. He never left the hotel."

"What do you mean? I called him the last time and he said that they were about to do a tour."

"According to the hotel receptionist, he didn't leave the room since he arrive. All foods were just delivered room service. They were calling the restaurant and they will just order."

They? "What do you mean they? Is he with somebody?"

"Yes sir. A certain Mr. Anschutz. And I do the honour of digging their relationships for you. And I found out, they were on a relationship for a year now."

I stilled. "What? Are you sure about that? Don't you try to trick me--"

"Sir, I am one of the trusted investigator of your mother. I will not ruin that with this case."

I didn't answer. He continued speaking "I would send the photos to you but given your current situation, it will be difficult."

"I understand. But still, send it to my email and also send me printed copies. Just back up. "

"I will stay for a few days here to continue my task. Do you want anything else sir?"

"Nothing for now. Thank you for your information. Keep up the good job."

I ended the call, just in time I heard my Nana Alejandra talking.

"I've been in doubt of James ever since you  told me about your relationship. But I feel that you are happy with him that's why I didn't tell you my doubts."

"I know Nana. He changed when I started to fallbe the famous racer. Maybe I'm at fault because I rarely have time for him and just focus with my racing career. "

"I understand. But it's still not right to cheat on you--"

"That's why I'm mad. He should have told me that he wants out. Or he should have told me my shortcomings so I can fix it out. Instead he choose to cheat with me, with my sponsor! They will pay. I promise."

She tapped my shoulder and gave me a warm hug. "Enough of that. Your mom is downstairs. She's with someone. Come on. I'll help you prepare."

I groaned. "Another female therapist, isn't it?"

Nana chuckled. "Come and hear it yourself. Come on up up and don't be grumpy!"

A few minutes after, nana started wheeling me out of the room and brought me to the living room. I heard my mom talking. But I didn't hear the voice of the person she was talking to.

I cleared my throat to get their attention.

"Eli my son, how are you?"

"Still useless. What are you doing here Mom? Media might find out where am I if you keep on coming here."

She sighed. "I just miss you that's why. Anyway. I have someone here. Your new therapist--"

"You're fired. I don't want another female  therapist that take advantage of me because of my situation--"

"Hi Sir, my Name is Noah Traipipattanapong. Your new physical therapist."

I felt a warm hand shaking my right hand. And the funny thing is I jolt with the electricity that I felt with that touch. I immediately let go of the hand shake.

"Don't worry Sir, I made sure I am healthy before I accepted the job. I also just sanitise before I shake your hand."

Is that sarcasm I heard? I think he misunderstood  my action. I was about to apologize when I choose not to, I am his boss so it's a no. Instead, u talked to my mother.

"Mom, are you sure he is a boy? He sounds like a girl and his hands feels like a lady."

I heard giggles before she answered., "Yes son. I am 100% sure. I know he sound and feel like that but I am certain that he is a man. A very beautiful one."

I feel my forehead creasing. A man but beautiful? Now I am curious. Damn this blindness. At this moment I hope my eyesight was restored.

"Well, he is here already so I am leaving. Alejandra, I am leaving them to your care. Okay? I love you son. I am hoping you get well soon. "

"Bye mom. Please drive safely."

When my mom left, I heard Nana is talking to the new therapist.

"Nana, where am I going to stay? I still have to review his case."

"Oh, you can stay in the room next to--"

I cut nana off. "He will stay in the same room as me."

"What? Why?" the new comer ask.

"You are my new therapist and nurse right? I am blind and paralyzed. It will be difficult for me to call you in the other room, in case I need something. You got that?"

I hear him murmur but he answered "Noted sir."

Good. I think I need to set rules here.

"What was your name again?"

"Noah." What a beautiful name. I wonder if my what my mom said is true.

"Noah, let's set everything straight here okay? I am your boss and you follow everything I say. Clear?"

"Owbfndosbskbvshk."  His murmur.

"What did you say?"

"I said, it's very crystal clear. SIR."

Good. Let the war begin.
