"Great" Draco said, a small smirk adorning his face, "I'll see you later then." And with that he got up and walked away to the Slytherin table where a few people were giving him odd looks.

Hermione gave a small smile of her own as she watched him walk away. Everything was going to plan. She turned back around to finish reading a chapter in her book, then carry on to her first class, when she glanced up to look at Harry and Ron.

And boy was she glad she did. Harry's face was one of pure anger and protection for her, while Ron was turning purple with obvious jealousy. If this plan didn't work nothing would.

Hermione went back to nibbling on her bagel, acting like nothing happened. This in turn made a bit of anger mix in with Ron's jealousy. He clenched and unclenched his fists.

"What the hell was that!" he spat through gritted teeth.

"What was what, Ronald?" replied Hermione sweetly peering up from her book to give Ron her best confused expression. This only appeared to make Ron even angrier.

"Don't you 'what was what Ronald?' me! The ferret just asked you out and you said yes! SO DONT YOU TRY TO PLAY IT OFF AS IF YOU GET ASKED OUT OFTEN!" Ron yelled, standing up. Hermione couldn't believe her ears, she understood he was jealous, but to so blatantly insult her, by saying no one hardly asked her out in front of the whole Great Hall, well, Hermione thought that he would have been above such things.

Hermione stood up too and sent a glare to rival anyone's towards Ron. By now the entire Great Hall was staring. "The last time I checked Ron, you aren't in charge of my actions. And I hardly think that you deserve the right to judge me, seeing as you're to caught up making eyes at the school slut. So if you would excuse me I would like to go pick out my outfit for my date with Draco."

Once Hermione was finished with her rant she gather up her things quickly and walked out of the Great Hall, sparing a glance at Draco on her way out. There he was, watching her storm out with an amused smile plastered on his face. When he saw he glance, he nodded once, obviously pleased with her performance.

While Hermione was walking around the winding hallways of Hogwarts, buying time before her first class, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She whirled around expecting it to be someone who was angry with her about her exclamation at breakfast.

She relaxed when she saw who it was. "Hello Draco, what do you need?" She asked

He raised an eyebrow, "Since when do you call me by my first name?" he asked. Hermione thought for a second.

"I don't know, does it matter?" She asked.

"No, I guess not." He replied. "Nice job, by the way, with Weasley.

"Thanks," she replied, "It was actually kinda fun." She gave him a small smile, nerves suddenly taking over her. Wait, nerves?! When did she get nervous around Malfoy! And why was she calling him by his first name, she didn't like him or anything, right?! This entire purpose of this plan was to make Ron jealous so he would like her again! I mean there was that tiny little crush that she had on him in First year, before he called her a Mudblood, but he had changed, hadn't he?

Draco's smirk fell off his face as he noticed the intense look of thought on the brunette's face. "Hey Hermione, you okay?" He asked

Hermione was suddenly pulled out of her thoughts by Draco's question. "Huh? Oh, yeah I'm fine. I better be getting to class, don't want to be late, right?" And then she hurried off before Draco could say anything in response.

'What was that all about?' He thought. He shrugged it off as start of school pressure and continued walking towards his first class, the bushy haired Gryffindor never leaving his mind.

He tried to remember why he even agreed to this plan with Hermione in the first place. The main thing he could remember was walking in on her with her emotional walls torn down, brick by brick, and aching loneliness etched deep into her face. He wanted to punch whoever caused that pain square in the jaw, and then comfort her himself, but he settled for walking over and asking her what was wrong. Thus leading to the creation of this brilliant plan.

Of course the only reason he agreed to help Granger at all was because he harbored a small crush on her and because he might get a chance to punch Weasley in the face and make him pay for what he did to Hermione.

He knew that his feelings for the small brunette would never be returned, based on the way he had treated her in the past 6 years. It was all his fault that he had absolutely no chance with Hermione, and he knew it.
