The rest of September went by in a flash for our witch and wizard as Harry gave Hermione a special bracelet with the words Forever inscribed for her 12th birthday on the 19th, Malfoy 'asked' for Harry to be in a wizard duel with Hermione as his second, they nearly got caught by Filch whilst roaming on the 7th floor at midnight. Malfoy couldn't believe his eyes when he saw that both Harry and Hermione were still at Hogwarts the next day after the near expulsion last night when Filch almost caught them. Right now, They're outside the courtyard with Harry carrying a trunk with a burly fifth-year named Oliver Wood, and Hermione was at Harry's side, eyeing him romantically when he wasn't even looking at her.
''Quidditch is easy enough to understand. Each team has eight players, three chasers, two beaters, one keeper, and a seeker. That's you two.'' said Wood as he and Harry set the trunk down on the grass. He picks up a red ball and throws it to Harry. ''There are three kinds of balls. This one's called the Quaffle. Now, the chasers handle the Quaffle and try to put it through one of those three hoops on the field. The keeper, that's me, defends the hoops. With me so far?''
''I think so,'' said Harry, throwing the Quaffle back to Wood.
''What are those?'' Hermione said, adding to the conversation and pointing down at two identical balls that were smaller than the Quaffle but moved at a squirming pace. They were attached with chains to make sure that they didn't escape.
''You better take this.'' Wood said, handing a miniature baseball bat to Hermione.
He bends down and unhooks one of the chains from one of the balls in the trunk, which causes it to shoot up in the air with an angry growl. It was heading towards Hermione's head, and Harry could only worry that he would lose his friend for 11 years for good.
''Careful Hermione, It's coming back!'' Harry yelled, worryingly
She was aware that Harry was worried for her as the ball came whizzing towards Hermione, and once the ball was eyeing at her chest, she swung the bat hard, which made a loud crack. It cracked so loud that it made its way towards a statue above the ground, but it didn't break.
''Not bad, Granger, you'd make a fair beater.'' Wood said, and the ball came soaring back in the courtyard.
Hermione ducked when the ball was heading towards her, but it targeted Wood's chest instead, nearly knocking him flat on the ground. Wood begins a wrestling match with the smaller ball. He struggles badly until he gets the ball in the trunk and puts the chains around the ball, securing it tightly.
''What was that?'' Hermione asked
''Bludger. Nasty little buggers. But you two are the seekers.'' said Wood, kneeling down to his knees and opening up a compartment with the four Hogwarts houses attached on the chest. Inside was a ball with a glint of gold all over it. ''The only thing I want you two to worry about is this...the Golden Snitch,''
''I like this ball,'' said Harry, and Hermione nodded
''Ah, you like it now. Just wait. It's wicked fast and damn near impossible to see.''
''What do we do with it?''
''You catch it...before the other team's seeker. You catch this; the game's over. You catch this, Potter or Granger, and we win.''
After Quidditch Practice with Mr Oliver Wood, It was time for Charms class with Slytherins and Hufflepuffs and Professor Flitwick, a dwarf-sized teacher that has to stand on books for the students to see him, thought it would be a great idea to make objects fly. Harry is working with Seamus, and Hermione gets paired up with Ron, one of the ginger-haired people that Harry and Hermione ran into at Kings Cross.
