The black sky was covered in bright stars as his shiny shoes met the ground, carrying him closer to the small, wooden church. Mountaintops were covered in snow, the thick trees that shielded the small town from the rest of the world grew taller with every breath he took.
His black suit perfectly hugged his body, matching his black hair. Loki watched a few people leave the church with smiles on their faces, praising their preacher, the man that took on the role as an intermediary between earth and heaven, speaking to the holy father they all believed in.
A young woman caught his eyes, she had her arm slung around another woman's waist, stabilizing her frame. She was gorgeous, a beauty as you'd only find in Asgard. He wanted to reach for her, but the time wasn't ripe for it just yet, patiently he would have to wait, staying hidden between the trees.
As the last person had left the church Loki walked up to the building, double checking if he was truly alone.
"Can I help you?" The preacher stared at the unfamiliar man, watching him close the door behind him, reaching for something he had placed in his belt hours ago. Shiny blades twinkled in the darkness, but before the preacher could scream for help Loki had already reached him, piercing his blades through his abdomen, taking away his life.
As the preacher fell to the floor, Loki took off the white collar, clipping it around his own neck. The golden cross that had once belonged to the now dead man burned on his chest, finding its new owner, clearly feeling his lies and hatred.
In that very moment Preacher Laufeyson had been born, a role he would have to master if he wanted to stay hidden, hiding away from the Avengers, his brother and the friends he couldn't help but feel jealous of.
