[54.] Wedding night.

Very late that night, when they finally managed to get away from the crowd, and got to their room, both were extremely tired. Lan Zhan started removing and tearing away pieces of decoration, official robes and his headpiece, until he was nearly naked. 

Wei Ying was having fun observing this  –  he, on the other hand, was removing piece by piece patiently.

- I am so surprised you still have the energy to wreck things, husband.  –  he said playfully.  –  Does this mean you are going to...wreck... me... too... tonight?   –  he winked.

Lan Zhan turned to him, surprised. He was not yet accustomed to the name; "husband" sounded like something old people said to each other. 

He was gaping sheepishly as Wei Ying was undressing calmly and seductively. He also removed his headpiece and his lush hair was now swaying well up to his waist. 

He mumbled:

- You are so beautiful... it's not fair... 

And then:

 – I just might, you know.

Wei Ying turned around, naked now, raising an eyebrow and licking his lips seductively.

- Oh? Is that a promise?

He waited not for an answer, but flung himself on the bed that was adorned with flower petals and fragrant grass. He could hear Lan Zhan take off some final knick-knackery, swearing under his breath in the dark room, and he smiled.

In a minute his husband was ready and crawled on the bed up to him, whispering coarsely:

 - Let's see who gets punished now,  you brat!...  Wei Ying...?

He found a naked, sprawling, and happily smiling Wei Wuxian, already asleep and snoring gently, and his heart melted.

- So... I am guessing... no sex on our wedding night, huh?  –  he smirked and lay down next to him, drawing him near one more time.

Wei Ying turned around to hug him, and snuggled into him by instinct and habit, sound asleep.

His words were still ringing in Lan Wangji's head, and would still  –  for years to come.

They both now knew exactly what love was.

They were living it.
