The sun shone lightly through the window, casting light onto a girl curled in her yellow blanket. A grunt escaped her throat followed by a flip. Pulling the sheet over her head, the girl began to doze off once more. A loud buzz filled the air, making her squeal. "Five more minutes!" Her fist slammed on the alarm clock repeatedly until the ringing ended.
In response to the noises, a woman opened the door slightly, peering inside. "Rin...?" Are you okay?" The woman asked softly, running a hand through her own pink hair that hung to her waist. "I want to sleep..." She groaned...curling up even more. With a sigh, the woman walked in, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Your classes start soon...you know? Meiko-sensei can't wait to teach you, she said so." Rin sat up, tugging at her tangled blonde hair.
She reached to the nightstand, picking up a brush. "Classes start so....early though...and I'm not a fan of my outfit..." Rin tugged the brush through her hair, wincing slightly. "Meiko is really nice, Luka....though I can't sing well." Luka laughed, tracing her thumb along her soft jawline. Her soft sapphire eyes scanning the girl. "You sing beautifully, you wouldn't be a student if you weren't, hmm?" She leaned over, taking the brush from her. Luka tugged the brush through Rin's.
After getting ready, Rin leaned on her bedroom wall, twisting at the flimsy yellow bow around her neck. With a whimper, she left the room into the main room. A male sat on the couch, reading a book and humming. His purple hair was longer than Luka's, sprawling on the couch. Rin sneered at the sight of him, managing a giggle. "Gakupo...you don't even live here....ahah!" He lifted his head. "I came to practice with Luka this morning, is that bad?" His voice was soothing, relaxing to hear. Rin shrugged and left out the door, shouting bye to everyone in the home. Though leaving so suddenly felt rude, she brushed it off.
With a bright smile, she ran up the sidewalk, catching up to another girl. She had a strange outfit on, a hello kitty plastic piece over her stomach with skin tight black and red floral fabric over her small build. It looked like she had large speakers on her hands, shiny red metal surrounding them. A huge hello kitty helmet surrounded by her head. Rin smiled, tugging at the girl's long pink pony tail. "I see you got assigned quite the costume, Iroha." The girl nodded, though it moved her helmet out of place. "Rin, please?" Iroha said in a whimper, though the helmet covered her eyes. The blonde got on her tip toes and pushed the helmet back. Continuing the walk, Iroha sighed. Her voice was extremely mature and beautiful, many were envious...including Rin. "Y'know, Kagamine, I wonder what it would be like if you had a partner, you sound like one would be of use..." Rin jumped around. "And what is that supposed to mean?" She raised a brow and slowed to keep pace with the other. Before Iroha could say any more, the shiny white school came into view. It wasn't that big, due to only just over 60 students attended. The doors were thick blue glass with silver knobs. "I guess everyone already went inside..." Rin saw Iroha go to the door, holding back a laugh. For she was trying to open it without proper hands. "Open, dammit!" She yelled. Then she tried to push, no avail. Rin pushed Iroha to the side gently, opening the door and holding it. Iroha huffed and went inside.
The two girls walked inside the single floor school, scanning over several wooden doors. Melodic voices filled the air, adding to the atmosphere. "A-are we late?!" Rin stammered; before Iroha could reply, Rin grabbed her shoulder to drag her to the class with "B" painted to it. The sound in the class ended when the door opened. A woman in a red crop top and skirt sighed. Sho had short brown hair and kind brown eyes. "You two aren't too late...find a seat please..." Doing as told, Rin picked the notes from her desk. The notes were...fast. Only two quarter notes in the piece. Picking the headband from her hair, she set it on her desk, folding the bow with her fingers. A student winked at her...though Rin looked away.
Class was slow, as Rin was severely behind the others in how she sang. Her voice couldn't come out right, higher compared to the rest. Meiko saw Rin's distress, so she told the rest of the class to practice while she took Rin into the hall. "Meiko-sensei...I can't..." "Yes you can, tell me what you don't understand." The woman interrupted her. Rin scratched her head. "Do I stretch the consonant in shi?" Rin pointed to a note on the sheet. "No, treat it like the rest of your notes...the words should blend, like this." Meiko cleared her throat and began to sing. Rin loved the maturity in her voice along with the sweetness to it. When Meiko finished, Rin tried, blending her notes better than before. "Amazing!" The teacher clapped and let her inside the class again.
With newfound confidence, the day went by smoothly. When the bell rang, Rin practically flew out the doors. After helping Iroha again of course.
Rin laughed, running from the boy chasing her. Class had let out and all of the young singer prodigies chased eachother home. The boy chasing her had average blonde hair, covered in white bandages, including one eye. "I'll catch you some day, Rin! Don't you worry." He called after her as he turned into a drive way. His voice was high and sweet with a heavy British accent. Rin snorted and turned into her own home, throwing the door open.
With each movement, the large white bow on her head bounced about. Luka streched and smiled. "Have fun?" Rin nodded and picked up an orange from a fruit bowl. The girl hummed and tugged the skin away, stuffing them into her short's pocket. "Oh, I got you something...check your room." Rin jumped up and down, unable to reply due her mouth being stuffed with orange. Skipping to her room, she opened the door. A yellow framed mirror stood in the corner, it's stand pressed into the tan carpet. "Aw, sweet!" Rin smiled, though she began changing her clothes. Tossing the white bow across the room and glancing at the mirror once more.
The gray tank hung over yellow boxer shorts comfortably, making her twirl on her foot. "I want to look in the mirror..." She thought outloud, moving to said mirror. As soon as she looked, she gasped and turned pale. For in the glass, a boy stared back. He shared her same expression. His blonde hair stood in wisps on his forehead, along with a puffy ponytail at the back of his head. The boy had the same bright blue eyes. Rin pressed against the mirror, as did the boy, staring her in the eye. To test something, Rin opened her mouth to speak. "Rin." She heard his voice echo back. "Len." Same tone, but a different voice. Rin shivered and shook her head. Running into the main room, screaming for Luka.
"WHAT?!" Luka came from the kitchen, wrapping her arms around the girl to quiet her. "What is it?" Luka said softly into her ear. "The mirror...I'm scared...!" Rin began pulling on her arm, dragging the woman to her room. "Luka! See?!" She squealed, seeing the boy do the exact same thing. Even hearing him. Luka shushed her and turned her to the mirror. "All I see is a pretty young girl..." When Rin looked inside the mirror, she saw Luka...holding the shoulders of the boy. "A young...girl?" Rin said in resonance with him.
Rin covered her face. "I just though I saw another person in the room...but it's gone now...." Luka nodded, though she felt concerned. "You can leave now Luka..." Hesitantly, Luka left, leaving the girl alone. Rin wrapped her arms around herself, as did the boy in the mirror. Rin sat on the floor, leaning on the bedside. Her bright blue eyes stared at the boy. "Eh?!" She saw his glance twitch. The boy kept glancing at the white headphones on the night stand. Rin shook, creeped out. Though she picked them up and flicked the microphone piece down. Her stare never left the boy in the mirror. Carefully pulling the headphones on, she heard static. She sat silent...until a soft voice carried over the speakers around her ears. "Can you hear me?"
