(Bose's Pov)

I held up a red, white, and blue banner, with bold letters saying 'Happy 4th of July!' "A little more...." Mika instructed, her voice higher pitched, I lifted it a bit, "a bit more..." I lifted it. "Wait a little less.." I brought it down. "Stop! You're perfect!" I side with relief, getting Miles to toss me the tape. I pulled on it a bit, but I got too long of a piece. When trying to roll it back up, the ends folded (The most annoying thing-) when I tried to unfold it, I got the tape stuck on my finger.

"Are you struggling there, Bose?" Chapa laughed.

"A little," I flushed with embarrassment. Eventually, with some help, I got the banner finally taped up.

The door flung open, Ray carried in a plate of ribs. "Freshly cooked ribs here! Get ya some ribs!" Danger Force and I ran over. After fighting a bit, we all got our plates full and started eating.

After eating we all had sauce on our faces, and I felt as though I couldn't move. We sat around for a while, and I chatted closely with Mika. "Hey!" Schwoz called, "I got an alert on my phone, fireworks will be going off at any moment!" I squealed with joy, a burst of excitement exploded in my chest. I jumped up, running outside. Miles stood beside me, as the first went off. Ray cheered, and I giggled. My heart leaped a little every time one went off.

"They're beautiful!" Mile's shouted.

"Right?!" Ray yelled back, over the loud explosion.

"Wait," Mika said, eyebrows furrowed, "where's Chapa?"

"Not sure, but I have to use the bathroom," I lied quickly, that few glasses of lemonade I had aren't riding out the rest of this. Everyone dismissed me and I ran back inside, jogging steadily towards the bathroom until I heard a muffled cry.

I froze, looking around wondering where it was coming from. I detected it coming from the closet right next to me. I reached out, twisting the doorknob. "Chapa?"

(Chapa's pov)

I sped walked around the man cave, I was going to try and ride it out, but I can't handle it. I found a closet, I slipped inside, and found a corner. I jumped out of my skin as a loud explosion sounded. I leaned against the wall, sliding to the ground. I covered my ears and tried to quiet my sobs.

When will it stop? I ask myself over and over. I noticed brighter light, and a shadow figure stood in the doorway. "Chapa?"

(Bose)

"Go away," Chapa snapped.

"Why are you all huddled up in a closet?"

"I...was looking for something..." A loud firework exploded near the man's nest. Chapa cried out, covering ears.

"You're scared."

"No."

"You are scared of fireworks."

"Fuck off." More explosions sounded from outside, and Chapa jumped again, squeezing her eyes shut.

(Chapa.)

Great, now Bose knows the fierce Chapa is terrified of a few fireworks. Not so fierce after all, huh? I heard an explosion, louder than ever. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying not to cry. Make it stop, please! I silently prayed.

What I did not expect was to be engulfed by a pair of warm arms, one rubbing my back and the other stroking my hair. Bose had gotten on the ground with me, allowing me to lean on him. "You have nothing to be embarrassed about, we all have fears," he whispered to me, "like Miles being afraid of butterflies, and I honestly hate heights." I chuckled at the memory of Miles screeching when he saw a butterfly.

"I don't mind the looks of fireworks, it's just the noise part that scares me, I can't stand loud noises," I admitted, "even thunder scares me at times."

"Bose! Chapa?!" I heard Mika yell, "You missed the rest of the show."

"Come on, it's over now," Bose smiled, grabbing my hand, leading me out of the closet. We came out in the open.

"Sorry, I was uh busy looking for something, and Bose helped," I lied.

"Ah, okay then," Miles shrugged. The group went off, still pumped

after the firework display. Before Bose could join them I grabbed his arm. He turned to look at me.

"Hey, thanks," I said, glancing at my feet.

"Any time, and if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask," Bose smiled. I smiled back, I gave him a smirk pulling him down, giving him a peck on the cheek. I pulled away, leaving a Bose frozen with shock, his cheeks the color of tomatoes.

"You're an adorable dork," I laughed, and we went to join our friends.
