Dream had known his whole life he would have to marry someone he probably didn't want to. You see, Dream isn't a normal 21 year old. Dream is a prince, soon to be king, and he had to find a queen soon. Very soon.
When the women first arrived he thought they all looked bratty. Just a bunch of stuck up princesses, but he had to do this. For his country.. Or whatever. Of course they were all wearing big ballgowns, seeing as they had to. If Dream could pick what they should wear it would be more casual, but he's still the prince, not the king. So he didn't have a say in it.
"So how was it?!" Dream's younger sister, Drista asked as soon as Dream got to his own room, where he thought he would be alone.
"Exhausting." Dream stated, unbuttoning his suit and draping it over his desk chair.
"Well the girls looked pretty!" Drista said enthusiastically. "I especially liked the one with red and orange dress!"
"Well, you look 100 times better than any of them." Dream said with a smile on his face, placing a kiss on Drista's forehead.
"You want me to leave so you can talk to Sapnap, right?" Drista asked, understanding Dream was tired.
"I want you to leave, so mom and dad won't get worried that you ran out again." Dream clarified, the two siblings sharing a smile.
"Okay, well, I love you. I know you are gonna find the right one." Drista said, standing up from Dream's bed and hugging him, before leaving his room.
Out in the hall Drista saw Sapnap, Dream's personal guard and told him Dream wanted to see him. Sapnap knocked on the door.
"You can come in!" Dream answered, hearing their secret knock.
"Drista said you wanted to see me." Sapnap said, closing the door behind him.
"Do you know if anyone is in the kitchen right now?" Dream asked, Sapnap smiling.
"There usually aren't at this time, why?" Sapnap asked back.
"Do you wanna go down there and make pancakes?" Dream asked, sitting up with excited puppy eyes.
"I legally can't leave your side and you still ask me what I wanna do.." Sapnap stated, rolling his eyes.
"I can get you fired for looking at me wrong, don't sass me like that." Dream joked, the two going downstair to the castle's kitchen.
Sapnap and Dream made pancakes for themselves to enjoy. They would often sneak down to the kitchen together to make some random food, and go outside at night to eat it. Today it was raining so they decided to sit in front of the window while eating, having only a few candles lighting the room, so it wouldn't be seen from outside.
"We should go back before we get caught." Sapnap said anxious.
"Calm down, there won't be anyone before 4 am tomorrow." Dream said calmly. Of course he was calm, HE COULDN'T LOSE HIS JOB.
The two boys heard the door open, a small man walking into the kitchen and turning the lights on. The man stopped as he saw Dream and Sapnap sitting at the window.
"Who are you?" Sapnap asked, he knew all of the staff and had never seen a small brunet man with a face like that before. He would definitely have remembered that face.
"I'm a new cook." The brunet stated. He soon realized where he had seen the blond and bowed. "I'm sorry your majesty, I didn't know anyone would be in here." The brunet said, shaking slightly.
