It's been three months since the last time I seen, or even heard from, Peter. I finally applied for college at the closest place here and I start in the fall. Spiderman is still doing his job, as usual. I wouldn't expect anything other from Peter.
I pulled my curly hair up into a ponytail, fixing my slightly messed up makeup afterwards. I slipped on my boots and walked out of my bedroom, calling a quickly 'goodbye' to my mom before walking out of the house. I looked up at the sky, sighing in relief when I saw sunlight. I started down the sidewalk, not knowing exactly where I was going. I was just tired of being in the house all the time. Without Peter, I had nothing to do besides lay around..
I shook my head to clear the thoughts of him, looking down at my phone as I slowly walked. I pulled up the text conversation between Peter and I, a frown on my face as I read through them.
|From: Peter|
|To: Maddie|I miss you. I'm going to come over to your house tonight after going over a quick sweep of the city so I can hold you in my arms. :)
|From: Maddie|
|To: Peter|As cheesy as it sounds, that's where I belong. Stay safe tonight and I'll see you when you're done. I love you. :)
I sighed quietly at the cliche of them, a sense of emptiness and loneliness filling me. I quickly went to my pictures, scrolling through the ones of Peter and myself. I bit my bottom lip and went back to the messages, pressing the call button.
"Madison?" he answered hesitantly.
I stayed quiet for a few seconds, "Hi, Pete."
"Are you okay?"
"I'm not sure, honestly. Can we meet somewhere?"
"Sure. Where are you?"
"I'm heading to that coffee place I like." I said, seeing the cafe a couple of shops down.
"Okay, I'll see you in a few." he replied.
I hung up and quickly made my way inside the cafe, ordering a small hot chocolate and sitting down at a table near the back. I stared at the door, Peter soon walking in. Nothing has changed about him these past three months.. I smiled slightly as he caught my eye and made his way over to me. He sat down in front of me and looked down at his lap before looking up at me, "How have you been?" he asked.
"Better." I replied, "How about you?"
"Better." he repeated, nodding slightly, "Why did you want to see me?"
"I miss you." I whispered, looking down at my cup, "I shouldn't for what you done. I'm still so upset over that, but I can't handle not having you in my life anymore."
Peter ran a hand through his hair, "I left her."
"I'd hope so." I murmured, "Do you think we could start fresh?" I asked quietly.
He smiled slightly, "As long as you-"
Peter was cut off by a loud explosion, causing the building to shake. We quickly looked out the window, seeing the familiar glider with the familiar face of Harry Osborn on top of it flying in the middle of the street. Peter instantly stood up, running to the back of the store. I stepped away from the window, jumping when someone put their hand on my shoulder, "Stay in here." I heard Peter state.
I turned my head, seeing him staring out the window through his mask, "Okay. Be careful." I whispered.
He nodded and quickly shot a web, crashing through the window. I shook my head and went behind the counter with everyone else, watching Peter try to talk to Harry, only to have a bomb thrown at him. I frowned and continued to watch, feeling like I should somehow help. Peter wouldn't want me to, but..oh well..
I quickly ran outside, staring up at Harry, "Harry! Stop this!"
His attention quickly turned to me, an evil smile crossing his face.
"Maddie, what the hell are you doing?!" I heard Peter shout.
I turned towards him, "Just trust m-"
I was cut off by a deep pressure and sharp pain shooting through my back and abdomen. I slowly looked down, seeing the point of a blade sticking out of my stomach. I quickly covered it, the blade soon being rip out of my body. I looked up at Peter, who was staring at me. I couldn't tell his expression from the mask that still covered his face. He ran up to me as I took a step towards him, my knees giving out, causing me to fall into him.
He wrapped his arms around me firmly, bringing us both to the ground, "No, no, no, no, Maddie." he whispered, shaking his head.
I tried to look down at the wound, only for Peter to grab my face in his hands, "Just look at me, Maddie. God, please no.. Maddie.. no, no, no."
I tried to look up at him, everything becoming blurry.
"Can you hear me, Madison?"
I opened my mouth to reply, but the pain made it hard. I could feel liquid slip out of my mouth. Most likely blood.
Peter shook his head, tears filling his eyes as he gently laid my head on the ground. He ripped his mask off before pressing his hands to my wound, continuing to mutter 'no' as he done so. I coughed, blood flying from my lips, "Please, Madison. Stay with me." Peter cried.
I could see people beginning to crowd around us, Peter not even caring his mask was off.
"I'm so sorry, Madison." Peter stated, "I'm sorry I ever cheated on you. I shouldn't have. Just stay with me, please. I can't lose you."
I started to see blackness taking over, my eyelids becoming heavy.
"No, no, no, no, no. Stay with me." Peter begged, removing his hands from the wound and pulling my head up onto his lap quickly, "I can't lose you, too. Please, for the love of God, hold on and don't leave me." he cried, pressing his forehead to mine.
I stared up at Peter as a bright light started to take over my vision. Peter's face was the last thing I wanted to see before I was gone. I let the light take over me, everything soon turning black.
*~*~*~*~*~*~You probably hate me.
I apologize. :D
I read something similar to that ending scene and just HAD to have it in my story. I'm not promising she'll come back to life like the girl in the other story did (it was a Pirate of the Caribbean fanfic and omg the feels) but I'm not promising she won't either! I mean, it's Spiderman and freaking Oscorp could probably fix her right up ;D *hint hint*
