Nny heard a faint rustling sound outside, he was on the ground floor as he had just gotten home from an excruciating night of wandering about town while the moon hung high in the sky. It was about midnight and the air was crisp, so clear that you could hear the slightest whisper a mile away. He hated these nights.

The girl looked through a rusted and breaking window, examining the room and biting her bottom lip.

"Huh.. " she said under her breath, slightly fogging up the glass.

Nny saw a faint glance of movement in the corner of his eye, and being the paranoid fuck he is he yelled out "Who the hell is that??" Half trying to scare the intruder, half being scared himself. Devi let out a soft gasp and flinched away, only now peeking over the window, her breath shaky now.

"... he's alive-? "

Nny's shadow crawled across the room as he began to storm over to the door, "...Squee if that's you..." his voice trailed off to a growling mumble as he fumbled with the locks on his door. Devi let out a sharp breath and an "oh shit" she then went running, panting out and turning the corner to her apartment about a block away. Nny made it out of his house just a second too late, his silhouette looming as he watched his intruder run off into the distance.

Devi slammed her door behind her and huffed as she hid behind it, half expecting her maniacal object of study to be creeping towards it this very second. She made the executive decision to call Tenna right that second. She picked up instantly, of course.

Hey! Devi, I haven't heard from you in forever! Or maybe it was 2 hours ago I can't tell anymore. What's up?" Her voice was as bright as ever.

"Remember that Nny guy I dated and tried to kill me?" Devi leaned on the wall, sweating.

"Sure I do! What about him? Did he get arrested finally?"

"No. Sadly. He's alive- and uhm. I saw a part of his house... "

"You went over there?? I know I said you should get out more but not like this, Devi."

"Tenna, I need to figure out what the fuck is going on with him... plus, he's still kinda cute.'' she half-joked on the last part, tapping her finger. "Ever since I experienced sickness, I have always thought it had something to do with Nny. "

"Anything is better than you working nonstop so... I guess if this keeps you from spiraling again..." Tenna's voice wavered and trailed off before bouncing back to life "But please, just be careful." She hung up tentatively, so as not to allow Devi any more time to battle her opinion.

Devi sighed and walked the short distance to the kitchen, grabbing a kitchen knife and heading back out. She decided to visit Nny once again... but this time she would enter his home. She made her break in quite easily, realizing immediately that the door was left unlocked,

"Eugh.. it smells like pure blood and rot in here." She scrunched her nose, gagging.

Nny heard more sounds coming from upstairs and outside, his mind raced. It wasn't squee, he knew that the footsteps were too heavy to be such a small kid. Moose? Bears? The entity in the walls? He shuddered. He hadn't seen anything from the entity since before he left town for a month or so, but the memory still scarred his mind. He took up a meat cleaver and began the long ascent upstairs. Devi gasped and quickly hid in a cabinet in his kitchen, clenching the knife in fear. He's home... Fuck. She sat listening to his footsteps tentatively. Nny heard that the noises stopped. Either they had softened their steps or had frozen in place. He knew they had been here before now. Normally he wouldn't be so horrifically panicked but now he was no longer sure if he could evade capture no matter what, so Nny began to race time and fled up the stairs to the ground floor. Devi huffed softly and slowly crept out of the cabinet. She was shaking all over and looking around frantically, she honestly thought she wouldn't make it out alive from this.
