I heard the screams again
I turned to face the wall, attempting to use my pillow as earplugs
It felt so silent outside
Another scream cut through the peace
Why hadn't my mother sorted that wretched child out yet
I couldn't stand the sound any longer
I dragged my feet like deadweights across the floor
What could that child possibly want now
She is fed whenever
Sleeps whenever
But still the screams continue
The same pattern
Again
Again
Again
The door was agar
I heard the dripping
Again
Again
Again
The same screams
Gently tapping the door open I suppressed a scream
Crimson splatters stained the cream walls
The dripping continued
I follow the sound
A small hand was wrapped around an old recording tape
It screamed that same pattern
Again
Again
Again
I recognised that hand though
Oh little Rosie
How your name matches the blood on the walls
How your screams never cease
Now you finally gone
