Disclaimer! Some parts of this story are related to the Resident Evil 2 remake, and have details that have to do with the game and the story. However, this takes place in both the Resident Evil realm, and the Dead By Daylight one.

This is my first time writing a fanfiction, if it's even fair to call this story one. It might get repetitive at some points, so I apologize. But here is this short little Claire and Leon story for ya! Hope you enjoy! - Cherry (aka Spooky)

Leon, Claire, and Sherry walked for what felt like forever. The dusty, dry desert was certainly a lot calmer compared to the night they faced before. This scenery was so much quieter. It was almost a relief.

Leon held onto Sherry's hand on one side, and Claire the other. They both wanted to make sure Sherry was safe. That was their top priority at the moment. "You hanging in there?" Leon asked Sherry as he looked down. "Yep! I'm fine." She said, still looking ahead. "I'm just getting a bit tired."

They didn't know where they were going, but they certainly didn't plan on stopping. They wanted to make sure they were in the clear. More walking on the dirt road, and finally something appeared in the distance. A police car. Help!

Claire turned to Leon. "Should we? Or are they gonna flip us off again?" She asked. She was desperate for help, because she, too, looked exhausted. Leon didn't blame her. Both of them had a long night full of chaos. Mutations, and not to mention crazy people. Claire knew that she wanted help for sure.

This entire trip consisted of her being a hero, and trying to stay independent. For now, all she wanted was to go back home and see her brother. She didn't know if she wanted to go back to her studies at university. That didn't matter. All that mattered was the safety of her and the people she cared about. Starting with Sherry and Leon.

"We definitely should look. I'm pretty sure my feet are gonna fall off with all this walking." Leon said with a playful smile. Claire needed a joke right now. Especially from someone who made her feel that calm and collected. "Don't say that." Claire joked in response. "I don't plan on carrying you all the way back" "And I don't plan on helping" Sherry added.

The three walked into the distance to the police car, hoping there would be someone in it to help. The car was in an empty parking lot. Not one other car was in sight with it. Alone and isolated, like the three of them.

Leon approached it and peered in. "I'm not seeing anyone." After looking in, Leon opened the car door. He got into the driver's seat, noticing the keys were still in the ignition. "Hm. Why would an officer leave their keys here?" He thought to himself, but it didn't stop him from starting it up, and letting Sherry and Claire know to get in.

"They left their keys here?" Claire asked in confusion. She wasn't at all declining the offer to drive away, but she still looked puzzled. "That's what I was wondering." Leon said. "My guess is that they left to investigate this lot, but never returned. Maybe they just left their keys here out of fear. A quick getaway."

Leon and Claire looked at each other for a while. Their eyes met for the first time in a bit. Claire still couldn't shake the feeling when she saw him for the first time in the rain. He made sure to check in on her while outside the gate, after driving in the car for a while the first time they were introduced.

He was quite handsome. His skin glowed, and the way his hair looked in the rain. That feeling was back when she thought about it again. She was quick to dismiss it though. "We should probably get going." She said out loud. "Yeah. You're right." Leon responded before pulling out of the lot and driving away.

"Thank you for checking in on me back there." She said to him. "Back at the gate. It really was nice to see you." "Any time." He said, turning to her slightly before looking back at the road. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

Claire turned back to look at Sherry. "How ya doing back there, Munchkin?" "I'm okay." She said with hesitation. "You think of names for that parrot and puppy you want. I'm not very creative." Claire said with a warm smile. "Hm. How about Charlie for the puppy, and..." Claire lifted an eyebrow. "Peaches." "Peaches?" Leon echoed from the front seat. "Yep!" She said with excitement.

"Haha, I think that's cute." Claire said. Claire wanted to make sure Sherry was enjoying the ride. She had been through it as well as Leon and herself. Claire made it a priority to cheer her on. Leon a bit as well. That's why Claire liked him. He helped with just about everything. "Peaches and Charlie it is." Leon said in agreement.

Before any other words could be said, there was a sudden bump from underneath the car. "What was that?" asked an alarmed Leon. "Look!" Claire exclaimed as she pointed to the windshield. There was a thick, dark mist surrounding the car suddenly. The car halted to a sudden stop.

Leon did not hesitate to get out of the driver's seat to check what it was. "I'm going to look" Even as a rookie, he did his best to investigate every danger ahead. Claire grabbed his arm. "Leon!" She said with fear. She shivered. The warm desert area couldn't even heat up the cold trickle down her spine that gave in to fear.

"You need to stay with Sherry. I don't want anything bad to happen to either of you." Leon looked into Claire's eyes with concern. "I need to keep them safe. And I will at all costs." He thought to himself. Claire's grip tightened. "I'm coming with you! Nothing you say will hold me back." Claire got up from her seat and stood on the ground, the fog swarming her feet.

Claire peered into the window to see Sherry. "Stay here, Munchkin. We'll be back here in a bit. Do not go anywhere." Sherry looked at Claire with fear in her eyes, and looked at Leon the same way. Tears started to flow down, and her eyes became clouds. "Please. Please, don't leave me. I finally have someone to keep me safe!" But after looking at the figures before her, there was nothing. Gone. Both of them.
