He walked towards her with a fault in his step. The railing on their porch being the only thing that was keeping him upright. Sweat poured from his face, drenching his already disgusting shirt.

"Oh my god." His presence startled the girl. "What happened?" She asked, trying to stabilize him.

He held his hand out and revealed pink dust scattered across his hand, clinging to his sweat. His body was shaking so violently that the sweat from his palm was being flung upwards. The girl lost her composure when she realized.

"Clay why the fuck would you take those? You promised." She was struggling to stay calm. He had already taken them and yelling at him now wouldn't do any good.

She saw a look of desperation in his eyes right before he fell to the ground and started gasping for air.

"For you." He struggled to talk in between the gasps.

"It doesn't matter. You made a promise."

"I'm sorry." He wasn't. He knew they needed the money and he was the only one actually capable of getting any.

His vision was staring to go out and his breathing pattern was getting patchy, and the girl knew it was time. "Just don't fucking die. Okay?"

He gave a shaky nod before his eyes closed and questionable serenity replaced the scattered chaos. She took his body inside and laid him down on his palette. She laid down next to him, not closing her eyes.

"Just don't fucking die." She whispered to herself quietly.

She would be awake until she heard him breathe again.
