Changbin drives out of Seungmin's parking lot, the car silent between the two. He didn't know what to say about the letters. He didn't realize there was so many. He didn't realize how much love and heartbreak there was on them.

"I read the letters."

"Okay."

The elder bit his lip, unsure what to say about them. "They... I'm so sorry, Seungmin. Did you know he was going to break up with you? I mean, there's a pattern."

"I had hoped he wasn't going to. It shocked me either way. I don't know why. I should've known better. He's an asshole."

"And you really want to date an asshole?"

The younger hesitates with his response. He didn't want to, but he knew he would. He wasn't sure if he could resist if he wanted to.

"I don't know, Bin. There's just... something there that draws me to him, no matter how he treats me. In high school, he was like the perfect boyfriend, and then it started falling apart. He wasn't like this before. We were best friends before we dated. He was an amazing person. I don't know what happened."

"Do you think he's still a good person?"

"I think there's still good in him, but so many other people have betrayed him, and I think that plays a part in it. Maybe he thinks I'm the same. Maybe he thinks he's being better than those awful people. Or maybe he just thinks he can get away with everything."

"Who betrayed him?"

"Everyone. At some point, it was just him and I. He didn't do anything to them. They just treated him like shit and dropped him. Even his own mother. She's a horrible person. I don't know. I've just always been there for him, and he took me for granted. It's my fault. I let him, and he continues to use me."

"Shouldn't you let him go so he can realize how better off both of you are?"

"No."

"Why?"

"I'm scared of what'll happen to him if he doesn't have me to fall back on."

"Seungmin, you can't do this to yourself. You're being so selfless, but it's toxic. He's a parasite. He won't get any better if you let him do this to you. He'll get worse. And maybe he'll fall hard when you finally leave him, but he has to get up on his own."

The younger stays silent once again, thinking. He was right, as always.

"Where are we going?"

"To a far away dumpster. I know you pull his shit out of the trash once he comes back. I'm not letting you do that. You have to let go, or else it'll kill you."
