--Long Gone And Moved On--

-Flashback-

- July 18th 1996-

"Come on Glen! Guitar isn't that hard!" I sighed, watching him hopelessly strum the Gibson

"I give up, seriously. Guitar is just not for me. I'm a drummer!" He picked up his wooden chipped sticks and slammed a few beats on his new set.

I put my hand on his shoulder and looked him straight in the eye.

"Glen Joseph Power. Listen to me. Never ever give up. I don't care. Losers give up. You don't want to be branded a loser, do you? One day, you are gonna be a superstar. You will be a fabulous drummer but I will teach you guitar if it's the last bloody thing I do" I bellowed, out of breath

There was a pause as I finally breathed. Glen leant forward and kissed me. On the lips. For around 10 seconds. Before breaking off.

"Man, I've always wanted to do that! Hopefully that'll shut you up for a bit, eh?" He laughed, spinning on the stool.

I grinned.

From that day on. I was Catherine Berry and he was Glen Power and we were boyfriend...and girlfriend!

-Chapter 1-

- January 1st 2013-

Hello. I'm Catherine Berry. I prefer Cat but you know.

I live in a small apartment in Dublin. Alone.

With my cat, Tiffany.

Yeah it gets lonely.

I should be settling down with somebody around now, I guess...

But I haven't found anyone who can quite match the standards of, well, him...

Once upon a time, in 1996 to be exact. I fell in love with this Dubliner down my road. He was 16, I was 15.

Let's say...he was special.

I told him to never ever give up on his dreams and he followed my advice and well...

I won't go into too much detail but his name was Glen. Glen Power.

I ran through the kitchen and switched on the TV.

I felt in a music listening mood so I flicked through the channels to 4 Music.

I felt my cheeks go warm as I heard a familiar tune and my blood rushed to my cheeks. I looked up to see 'The Script ft. will.i.am - Hall Of Fame'.

I gazed at my jet black television. I felt my heart stop as they showed him. The guy I fell in love with 17 years back. Doing what he used to do in my old garage. Drumming.

I fell black into the black leather sofa, feeling a warm tear slip down my cheek, old memories rushing through my mind.

First meeting.

Jamming out.

First kiss.

First date.

Prom.

More dates...

Why did it all go so wrong, I thought to myself.
