I followed after Amy down the stairs, determined to make her talk to me. By the time I made it down the twisting stairs Amy was already seated at the table beside Asher himself. She shot me a smirk and rested her hand on Asher's leg. I narrowed my eyes slightly but held my self back. She obviously wanted a reaction from me but I wasn't going to give her anything else to hold against me. I made my way over to my seat, which was beside Spencer, and sat down just in time for the food to be brought out.
"Hey Kota. Took you long enough. I thought you two were going to miss dinner."
I smiled nervously at Spencer beside me and decided to use the lie is told Amy a minute ago.
"Sorry I we made you guys wait for us. I was doing my make up and Asher said he would wait for me so I wouldn't be the last one to the table."
I looked at Amy from the corner of my vision and saw her smiling in my direction, obviously amused by my lie.
"Well that was nice of you, Asher." Mrs.. Baxter said from across the table.
"You know me."
I mentally rolled my eyes at Asher's overconfident answer and allowed my self to smile a little at it.
Soon tons of food was piled on my plate from the butlers bringing in the tremendous amount of food they kept bringing out. It seemed like an endless amount of food and with every tray brought in I could literally feel my stomach rumble. I hadn't eaten all day and I was absolutely starving. I piled tons of food onto my plate and shoved a biscuit into my mouth, not even thinking about table manners.
"Hey, Lakota, you might want to take some time to breath between."
I glared up at Asher and stuck my tongue out at him. Then I realized how rude I was being at the dinner table and sat up straight, wiping the food off of my mouth.
" I'm so sorry Mr. and Mrs. Baxter. I was so hungry I forgot my table manners."
They both smiled at me and Mrs. Baxter shook her head in amusement.
"Its perfectly fine, Lakota. We have all had one of those days." I smiled at her kindness and went back to eating my food, more slowly this time of course.

Dinner was done and I excused my self from the table to go upstairs and try to figure out how to approach Amy. She obviously knew about me and Asher, which was not something I wanted to happen. I would wait until she went into her room and then I would talk to her. She wanted to blackmail me and I was not going to let that happen.
Five minutes later I was positioned in the hall to where no one could see me but I could see if Amy went into her room. I heard someone coming up the steps so I held my breath and waited in anticipation. It was her all right and she was walking around the hall with an air of confidence because she thought she had something against me. I could tell she was proud of her self and I couldn't wait to make that look fall off of her pretty little face. I knew when I first met her I didn't like her. Especially since she had a relationship, if that's what you called it, with Asher. I could feel jealousy burn through me from the thought of the two of them together. I never wanted her to touch him again with her dirty little manicured fingers. I repressed my emotions and walked over to her door and even though I really wanted to punch her I knew I could never hurt any one even if I tried too. I didn't even bother knocking on her door and just barged in. If she wanted to hold something over me then I wouldn't respect her privacy. What I didn't expect is for her to be sitting on the bed waiting for me.
"Took you long enough. I was getting bored waiting."
I glared at her and stood my ground, not letting a word escape my lips.
"Don't you want to know what the price is for your dirty little secret?"
I sneered in her direction and rolled my eyes.
"Do you seriously think I'm going to ley you black mail me Amy. Go ahead and tell Spencer, I was going to tell him any ways."
She was obviously wasn't expecting my response because she stumbled over a few words before she finally got out what she wanted to say.
"No. You don't want me to tell Spencer. It would kill him."
"You don't have to tell him but I m going to eventually. I don't want to keep hurting him like this, even if he's isn't aware of it yet."
"This is not how it was suppose to go. I'm suppose to get my way. I'm suppose to get Asher! Not you!"
I backed up at her yelling at me, trying to put a safe distance between us.
"Neither one of us is going to get him. I'm not going to be with him anymore and neither are you."
"He was mine first. I get him."
By this point she sounded like a four year old who didn't get a toy she wanted for her birthday and I was getting tired of it.
"No you don't get him. You want to know why? Because he doesn't deserve either of us."
I turned for the door but she grabbed hold of my wrist stopping me.
"No. He is mine. Do you hear that, Lakota?"
I rolled my eyes and pulled my wrist from her hold. Asher was no ones now and with all my heart I wanted to be his and him mine but that wasn't in the books for me. I had to find a murder, the person who framed me for their crime. This meant no distractions, which was all I have been having this whole journey so far. I barely had any leads and the police were getting closer and closed to me every day. I had no chance of finding the person who framed me if I kept it up and to think of it all week I have been going with out my wig, colored contacts, and glasses. I was so screwed. How could I have forgotten to wear the one thing that is keeping me from being caught. Some one probably noticed me at the country club. What about Spencer's parents. For on moment I forgot about being a girl one the run and in that one minute I could have ruined my whole entire life. Stupid boys making me forget about my important problems.
