Ch.9 The Queen of Hearts castle

As Alex slept under the hat, he was wakened by the sound of gaint footsteps coming near him, he quickly got up and watched as someone picked up Maddie's hat, that someone was Bella.

"Alex?" Bella said when she saw him "Why are you so tiny? And why's Maddie's hat here?"

"We were chased by some card guards" Alex said "Maddie gave me a shrinking potion and she made me get on her hat, and she threw me across the pool of tears as the guards took her away".

"Oh no" Bella gasped.

"By the way" Alex said "Cari Pillar gave me a ridlle to find the Vorpal sword, and I was wondering if you can solve it".

"What's the riddle?"

Alex told her the riddle.

"Oh dear" Bella said "It sounds so familier, but I can't seem to figure it out".

"Great" Alex sighed.

"But I think I know who can".

"Who?"

"Lizzie Hearts".

"Lizzie? But isn't she like, after me?"

"She is, but, she doesn't know what you look like".

"She doesn't?"

"The araculum doesn't show your face, so she doesn't know what you really look like".

"So what are you saying?"

"I'm saying that, I can take you to her castle and you can ask her, and you might even save Maddie".

"You're right, but what if she askes my name?"

"Tell her your name is, um, Lewis".

"Lewis? Ok. Wait, what about the hat?"

"I've got this" Bella said as she picked up the hat "Luckily, her hat is foldable".

Bella then pushed the hat down flat and folded it intill it was small enough to fit her pocket in her blazor.

"Now how do I get to Lizzie's castle?" Alex asked.

"Well, I think the best way is on me".

"On you?"

"In my rabbit form, I can run very fast, that's why I'n never late, well sometimes".

"I have to ride you?"

"It'll be fun" Bella then transformed into her rabbit form "Now climb on".

Alex climbed on Bella's rabbit back.

"You have soft fur" Alex said.

"I know, now hang on".

Alex held onto Bella's blazor collar as she started running. Bella was right, she can run very fast.

When Bella and Alex made it to the queen's castle, they entered through a hole in the ground and found that they were behind some bushes.

"It's my shortcut in here" Bella said as Alex got off her rabbit back.

"Where are we?" Alex asked.

"The croquet yard".

Alex looked behind the bushes and saw the queen and her subjects playing croquet. He noticed that the mallets were live flamingos and the balls were hedghogs. He watched the queen hit the hedghog with the flamingo and it rolled under some arches.

"Poor things" Alex said.

Follow me" Bella said as Alex followed her behind the bushes and through the entrance of the croquet yard. Bella transformed back into a human and looked around to make sure no one was looking.

"Ok, here" she said as she gave Alex another of those growing cookies "Go ahead and take a bite".

Alex took a bite of the cookie and her grew back to his regular size.

"Ok" Bella said "Now, I'm going to introduce you to the queen, play along, and remember, your name is Lewis".

"Got it".

Alex followed Bella into the croquet yard.

"Your majesty" Bella said.

"What" the queen said as she turned around and saw Alex "And who is this?"

"This is Lewis" Bella lied "He's a visitor from Underland".

"Underland?" Alex thought.

"What happened to your shirt?" the queen asked Alex. His light blue shirt was now covered in dirt stains and tears.

"I was chased by a bandersnatch" Alex said "And I tripped and rolled in some dirt and my shirt got caught in some thorns".

"Well what brings you here?" the queen asked.

"Uh, I was being harassed in Underland, and I, uh, decided to see you so I could get away from the harassment" he said, hoping she'd believe him.

"My dear boy" the queen said "A handsome lad like you is welcomed into my castle".

Alex gave a small smile.

"And you must be tired of wearing that shirt, someone bring him a new shirt!" the queen called "Come in Lewis" she said as everyone followed her inside the castle.

"Good job" Bella whispered to him.

In the castle, Alex was given a dark red button shirt.

"You may sit in our guest chair" the queen said as she sat in her throne and Alex sat in the guest chair which was next to the queen's throne.

"Elizabeth!" the queen called "Come meet our guest!"

"You must meet my daughter" the queen said to Alex "You'll love her".

Alex just gave a small smile as Lizzie entered.

"And who is this mother?" Lizzie asked the queen as she walked towards Alex.

"Lewis" the queen said "From Underland".

"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Lewis" Lizzie said.

"You too your highness" Alex smiled, hoping Bella was right that she doesn't know who he really is.

"Lizzie" the queen said "Why don't you show our guest around the castle.

"Sure mother" Lizzie said "Follow me Alex".

As Alex followed Lizzie down a hall, he decided to ask her about the riddle.

"So" he said "I've heard you're good at riddles".

"You can say that" Lizzie said.

'Well can you help me on this riddle? I've been trying to figure it out all day".

'What's the riddle?" she asked as Alex told her the riddle.

"Oh that's easy" Lizzie said "It's the Tumtum tree, the only lone tree in Wonderland".

"The Tumtum tree" Alex said "Thank you".

In Lizzie's room, Cat appeared on her bed.

"I'm in Lizzie's room" Cat grinned "I hope she doesn't mind if I snoop around".

Cat then opened a drawer on Lizzie's nightstand.

"Ooo, what's this?" she asked herself "A diary?"

She opened the diary, and on the front page, she read 'Read this and it's off with your head!'

"So it is a diary, bad place to put a diary though" Cat said "Don't mind if I read it".

As Cat read Lizzie's diary, she gave a giggle.

"Wow" she said "She thinks the knave of hearts is cute? How wierd".

She continued to read, but when she read a page, she gasped.

"No way" she gasped. She put the diary back into the drawer and disappeared.
