Katherine 'Kate' Pryde, the mutant previously known as Shadowcat, walked with a medkit under her arm through the desolated city of New York. She had an angry look on her face, something that had been permanently on her face ever since her biggest loss. She was previously called by the nickname of Kitty but ever since the death of her significant other, she has prefered to be addressed by Kate instead of Kitty. She didn’t want memories to resurface and make her suffer once more.

Kate couldn't help but frown a bit as she walked through the 'Big Apple'. The place she was walking through was a nice place to live… but it is no longer the case anymore. Not since the Sentinels decided to attack each and every single hero or villain that had powers. It was how she lost the two of them… for her weakness.

"Couldn't Logan pick a safer place in Manhattan to rendezvous?" Kate snarled internally as she walked through the slums. Watching her steps as she kept on walking through the destroyed city. It had happened in a matter of seconds, everything went from bad to worse ever since that day. She hadn't smiled ever since a very specific disastrous day in her life. She hasn't been the same ever since that day. The day she lost her family. "Though I can understand why he picked this area. This is rogue territory, the last place on earth the Sentinels would expect a mutant, even less a former X-Man, to be-"

"What the-" Katherine said as she heard something. She looked down, only to widen her eyes as she saw what appeared to be a trap door underneath her. "A trap door?!" Kate exclaimed, immediately slipping on her feet as she fell down the trap door that opened underneath her. She got hurt as she fell down the trap, the steel scraping her skin but it didn't hurt as much as the pain that her heart experienced on a daily basis. She groaned a bit as she saw three thugs, smirking at her as she looked up. "Rogues!"

"How perceptive of you, mutie" Kate snarled even further as she glared at who appeared to be the leader of the little group of thugs. She was angry at everything, but mainly at herself. They had the chance to finally be able to be free from the Sentinels, but now she was at the slight mercy of these thugs. "And how kind if you to, shall we say, drop in"

"You'd be advised to let me go. I am on official Sentinel business" Kate tried her best to be out of her current situation, to be able to meet up with Wolverine but it seems that the thugs didn't want to let her go… if the snarl on the three men was anything to go by. She threw a hard glare at the one who seemed like the leader of the group, making the man ignore the glare she was giving him.

"Big deal. We hate those tin tyrants almost as we hate muties'' The leader growled out, making Kate glower at him with hate. She couldn't believe just how humans had fallen. These assholes didn't compare to the love she had been shown by her husband, who was dead because of the Sentinels. "Beg all you want, sweetheart. Scream all you want. Even if people hear, no one will come to help you" She could see the grin that appeared on his face, making her angrier at the fact that she was wearing the inhibitor collar. She was just a normal girl when having this collar, so she couldn't use her powers to defeat these assholes that had her cornered up. "You're gonna be a long time-"

"Not if I have anything to say about it, rogue!" Kate interrupted the man, who was getting dangerously close to her, with a kick to the balls. The rogue gasped in pain, which made her smirk at the damage done. Nobody was allowed to be that close to her, except her husband… and she was not going to be able to be that close to her husband once more.

"Robbo, George… grab her! I'm gonna flay this mutie-"

"No you're not, bub" Kate sighed in relief as she saw James 'Logan' Howlett, also known as the Wolverine, standing over the knocked out henchmen of the rogue leader while cracking his knuckles. She was glad to see his hairy face for once. He and the resistance were their only hope to achieve freedom. "You're gonna release the lady, just like she asked"
