———————————————————————summary: upon a sudden wave of seemingly-unbeatable depression, wanda does her best to help you through it.———————————————————————.
You hadn't gone out of your room in days. You isolated yourself from the other avengers, keeping to yourself and only going out of your room to use the restroom, which was in-itself, a rare occurrence at this point. This has happened before. It's not your first rodeo, per say. The last time this happened, the only thing that pulled you out was your friends, yet they were long gone now. Now, you have the avengers, who didn't even realize you had missed meetings. Or so you thought..
———————————————————————
Wanda had noticed the first time you missed a meeting. It was odd, Wanda thought, because you were one of those people who hated missing things, or being late for that matter. It made you anxious. The reason it took Wanda so long to do something about your absences, was because she thought you needed space. She thought that for a while, until you missed one dinner, and then another, and then another. To put it plainly, Wanda was worried. Are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you in danger? With all these questions swarming her mind, Wanda had to see you. She had to make sure you're okay.
———————————————————————
On the fifth day that you isolated yourself, a knock found its way at your door. The quiet banging pulled you from your thoughts, those scary, scary thoughts. With the last bit of strength the you had in you, you pulled yourself up and walked to the door. You gently opened it, as the red-head walked through. She did a quick scan of your room. Jesus, Wanda thought, how could it get this bad?
"I wanted to see you...i've been worried," Wanda's soft voice captures you attention. Huh, someone did notice. You watched as Wanda's eyes did a quick look over your room, glossy and worried. It was then, that you and Wanda had locked eyes. You had been laying on the bed, Wanda standing at the foot of it.
"Y/n, where have you been?" Wanda sounded like a worried mother, desperate to know why her child has been avoiding her. But there was more to it, more than a mother's love. It certainly wasn't a mother's love, but a love, unbeknownst to you, that kept Wanda alive everyday.
You tried to muster all your strength to say something, but all you could do was look at Wanda. When Wanda looked at you, it was if you were a different person. Your eyes were dull, tired, unlike your normal bright ones. Your hair was tucked behind your ears under a hood of a sweatshirt. Your hands were frail, they seemed like they would break if you touched them. It was heartbreaking, to say the least. Wanda blamed herself for not doing something sooner. Everyday, Wanda would get dressed, mutter something motivational to herself as she looked in the mirror, and make her way to the living room of the tower, excited to see someone. Also unbeknownst to you, that 'someone' that she was excited to see, was you. You were Wanda's heart. Her soul, her hope, her creativity. You were Wanda's everything, and you didn't even know it.
Wanda didn't know what she should do. She had never felt the responsibility to stay with someone through something like this. I mean, she never knew anybody close to her who had any sort of depression, or at least any that she knew about. Yet, Wanda did her best. She climbed onto the bed, and sat herself next to you. She turned on the lamp on the side table, and chuckled as you tightly shut your eyes from the bright light. Wanda grabbed the remote from the nightstand and turned on your tv. She scrolled for a minute till she reached your favorite show. Wanda remembered reading something about depression causing you to lose interest in things that make you happy, but Wanda put the show on just in case. She wanted to make an effort, and you saw that.
Wanda grabbed a blanket from the end of the bed and rested it upon the two of you. She gently rested her arm around you, and pulled you to lay your head on her chest. You didn't resist, you lacked any effort. Wanda didn't say much. Throughout the show, Wanda made small comments about the characters or a scene, but made sure to let you rest there while you both watched the show. It wasn't until Wanda placed a soft kiss on the top of your head, that for the first time in a while, a small smile made its way onto your face.
Wanda watched as you fell asleep, gently stroking your hair. A tear slipped from Wanda's eye, disappearing onto the bed. She couldn't bear to see you like this. It physically hurt her. Wanda wanted to give you the world. Wanda intended to do so. You deserved it.
