Senpai sat down in one of the bar stools, today was exhausting and he needed something to quench his thirst. The bartender quickly noticed him, and went to take his order.
"Lemme guess, the usual?" He asked tiredly.
"Yeah, if it's not a bother."
"Never is, no worries..!"
The bartender walked away to pour the drink, and Senpai felt himself start to dose off, work was tiring him out, when someone tapped his shoulder. Senpai quickly jumped up, turning around to see who could have possibly tapped his shoulder. It was a tall man wearing a red collared shirt, his hair messily tied into a loose ponytail and beautiful brown eyes. Senpai looked lower to see the man had on a pair of dark black pants, and, oddly enough, brown sneakers.
"Hey, mind if I sit next to you?"
"Hmm? Ah, sure, go ahead!"
"Thanks."
The mysterious man sat down next to Senpai, and the latter couldn't help but noticed his skin was tinted red. Before Senpai could ask, however, the bartender returned with his drink: a dark murky red liquid in a glass.
"Thanks." Senpai spoke as he payed, and the stranger looked at the drink in disgust.
"The hell is that?" He asked, and Senpai let out a light chuckle.
"Secret menu. Can't say."
"Huh, looks like shit. I'll just take a soda, I'm not in the mood to get drunk." The stranger spoke to the bartender, and he quickly returned with a can of soda.
"So... I take it your not from around here..?" Senpai asked and the stranger nodded.
"Yeah, how'd you guess?"
"Most people around here are familiar, but not you."
"You say that like you can memorize people's faces..."
"Yeah I can actually, it's just a thing I do..!"
"That's... really useful, honestly."
"Thanks!" Senpai smiled and sipped his drink.
"Jesus christ that even SMELLS bad!"
"Hey! It's good tasting!" Senpai defended and the stranger raised an eyebrow. He looked as though he wanted to try it but decided against it.
"...Anyway, since you can remember faces it'd probably be best to introduce ourselves. Or not, your choice."
"My name is... Well, silly, but... I'm Senpai! But you can call me Sen."
"Not as silly as my name. Name's Spirit, and I don't have a nickname."
"Geez, don't say it like that! Makes it sound like nicknames are sucky."
"I don't do nicknames, that's all." Spirit spoke as he suddenly stood up.
"Leaving so soon? How come?" Senpai inquired as he finished drinking his drink.
"I gotta get to unpacking, just moved here yesterday. I just stopped by for a drink honestly."
"Huh. Well, see you around Spirit! It was nice meeting you!"
"Yeah, same here."
The taller waved goodbye, heading out to his car to get going home. Senpai decided to order another drink, quickly gulping it down before realiazing the sun was rising. I'd better get going home, I need some rest and the sun's almost out...
Senpai quickly said goodbye to the bartender, leaving a tip before driving home. He didn't expect to see a moving van at the house next door however, and then remembered the stranger he had just met. Sleep can wait... Senpai decided as he walked across the street to greet the new neighbor.
