Mine Would Be You

Chapter 1

"Mama's here, my love," she said quietly as she picked up the crying baby from the crib & sat down in the rocking chair.

For Steffy Forrester, this had become her normal routine. Wake up, feed a baby, change a diaper, & try to get some sleep.

These were the things that she had done before when she was a single mother of one.

Now here she was a mother of two & engaged to be married to her son's father.

For Steffy, having her fiancé, Dr. John Finnegan, by her side meant everything to her.

He was incredibly loving & supportive. He was an amazing father to their baby son Hayes & already had a bond with Kelly, Steffy's daughter with her ex, Liam Spencer.

Now here he was walking into the nursery while Steffy was breastfeeding Hayes.

"Was the little man hungry?" he asked with a smile as he looked over her shoulder & watched Hayes.

"Very hungry," she said with a chuckle. He chuckled in response.

"I checked on Kelly by the way," Finn said.

"How is she?" asked Steffy.

"Out like a light," he said with a smile.

"That's good. I thought adjusting to Hayes would be hard for Kel, but she is doing great," said Steffy with a smile.

"Well, I think she's a very resilient little girl. I think she got it from you," said Finn with a smile.

He then turned to face Steffy & gave her a gentle kiss.

After feeding him & burping him, Steffy gently placed Hayes back in his crib & headed back to bed with Finn.

For Steffy, her life felt perfect. Tiring yet perfect. She wouldn't have it any other way.

She just hoped that it would stay that way because there was always something around the corner that could trip things up.

However, there was something out there ready to trip her up.
