A squad of men dressed in pristine, tight-fitted, black suits stormed through the level. A bit too casual for one's comfort, gun holsters fastened to their belts, sunglasses and black masks covered their faces, concealing their identities. Talking into their earpieces in nothing more than a murmur. Pedestrians cowered in fear as they spread across the floor as if they were some sort of plague, avoiding eye contact almost like if they were to look, they would've been turned to stone. The only thing people could look at which wasn't held by everyone was the one single, shiny, silver briefcase. Held by the man in the middle.
Jaehyun and Taeyong, situated behind a fairly large magazine rack, were ready to alert Doyoung. Jaehyun picked up a magazine, as if he were to inspect it, when actually he was using it to conceal Taeyong's nimble fingers, pressed up to his earpiece.
"They're here, over " Taeyong said, so quiet he was almost inaudible.
"I'm on my way, over" was the reply he got.
Soon enough the lithe, familiar frame belonging to Kim Doyoung was seen weaving his way through the flock of people. Carrying a stack of books which went cohesively with his work uniform he had put on in the janitor's closet.
After a few calculated steps, he managed to knock into the back of one of the tallest men there, books decorating the floor in almost an instant.
A sting of apologies came from his mouth as he kneeled down to collect the paperbacks littered on the floor. Luckily, the man seemed to accept the apology even going as far as to helping him out in collecting the copies of red, white, and royal blue, stacking them in a neat pile. After grabbing the pile of book which had been stacked on the floor by several pairs of helping hands. Doyoung composed himself before standing up, He looked at the men surrounding him who had helped him out before averting his eyes to the man he had bumped into, patting him on the back while muttering apologies until the man held up a hand while saying "things like this happen all the time, just watch yourself next time"
Doyoung nodded before briskly walking away towards the shop where Taeyong and Jaehyun were waiting patiently.
"I wouldn't be surprised if you were a theatre kid. That was quite the performance" Jaehyun muttered to Doyoung after checking to see if anyone was watching.
"Of course, I was, all the gays do theatre" Doyoung said after placing the stack on the floor and brushing down his outfit. Slightly too big for his frame to conceal the weapons and gadgets adorning the bulletproof vest underneath it.
The group of bodyguards ushered into the Staff elevator leading up to the roof after pestering a staff member, with who knows what, until they gave up their ID card. Scanning it until the light turned green on the small device next to the up button.
As soon as the elevator doors closed, it was like all the life had been granted back access into the room. People started chatting and kids started running around freely and business continued as if nothing ever happened.
"Mark, is the tracker showing up, over?" Taeyong asked into his earpiece.
After a feel's seconds and silent, urgent whispers of desperation from Mark's end. Taeyong figured that something was wrong.
"Mark, what's wrong?" Taeyong asked quietly.
"It was a defect" Mark said in defeat, an audible sign was heard from various people.
"What do we do then?" Jaehyun questioned.
"This rarely happens but I gave Doyoung an extract, just in case. You're going to have to find a way to attach it, but you'll have to hurry. They're in the process of handing the compass over and by the looks of it they're not wasting any time, over" Mark informed as urgent typing was heard.
