"look-- look! i've got a big one!" reiner exclaimed, his hands gripped tightly around the fishing pole.
"it is gonna pull you in--" ymir began and reiner was yanked forwards into the water.
"has anyone seen marco and bertholdt?" jean asked, looking around the group.
"oh, marco stayed back at the cabin because he was mad and you, and bertholdt--" ymir began, lying.
"wait-wait, go back a bit-- why is marco mad at me??" the ash-blonde exclaimed.
"he said something about.. you cheating on him or something." the brunette told him.
"me and marco were dating? i didn't even know he was gay!" jean cried.
"what do you mean you didn't know? yesterday was your first anniversary?" connie added, going along with ymirs joke.
"our anniversary?"
"yes! we all got you guys gifts!" ymir cried. "don't tell me that you, cheated on him, forgot your anniversary and forgot you were dating?"
"im not cheating on anyone! with who does he think im cheating with?" jean wondered.
"whom, with whom does he think your cheating with" armin corrected.
"well, he probably thinks you and mikasa have a thing. he's been deprived of your love for so long that's he's trying to move on as well, you've seen how close he is with y/n recently" ymir explained.
"wait, but i set him up on a date with a girl last night.."
"on your anniversary??" reiner shrieked, his mouth filled with river water.
"that was a very sussy move" connie shook his head.
"im a horrible boyfriend"
