A/N : Hi guys :) I'm back again. I'm sorry for the wait ,but something happened recently in my family and I wasn't in the mood to write much. I'm feeling much better now. and I plan to write more for you guys.
Oh yeah, this chapter takes place during episode 6 of season one for those who want to go back and rewatch it!

"YAN LI /JIE JIE!"

As soon as the boat came to the dock, Xia and Wei Wuxian jumped off and ran to Yanli who giggled at their adorableness.

"I thought it'd be one whole year ?Why are you both back so soon?"

"Because I...missed you too much!"

Yan li giggles seeing right through her brother's words.
"You sweet talker!"

She turns to Xia and smiles brightly.
"A'Xia, did you enjoy your time?"

Xia smiles.
"It was amazing. Gusu was so beautiful and the boys aren't so bad either,"she giggles along with Yanli.

Wei Wuxian pouts and grabs her face,stretching her cheeks animatedly.

"O-ouch! W-Wei Wuxian you brat!"

Behind them , Clan Leader Fiangmian walks towards the three.

Yan li bows respectfully and acknowledges him.

Jiang Fengmian smiles.
"Where's your mother?"

Xia notices Yanlis' troubled expression but doesn't say anything.

"At ...the drill ground."

They make their way towards the drill ground where Madam Yu watches the Jiang Disciples holding up iron weights.

"A'yīmá."

Madam Yu looks up to see Yan li with Xia beside her.

She acknowledges Yanli and gives Xia a curt nod before glaring behind them at Wei Wuxian and Jiang Fengmian-but mostly at Wei Wuxian.

Wei Wuxian bows to her in respect, earning an annoyed huff.

"Ziyuan, haste makes waste. What level these children can reach is their own destiny. If you push them too hard , it won't help," Fengmian states with a gentle tone.

This only made Madam Yu angrier.
"You're always trying to defend them!That's why they won't achieve anything! Especially Wei Wuxian,he picked fights with others,and you had to clear his mess. I've never seen such impudence!"

Wei Wuxian looks down guiltily.

"Ziyuan.." Fengmian starts only for Madam Yu to continue.

"What?Am I wrong?He's always messing around here ,and now he has disgraced us in Gusu! He knew that Yanli and Zixuan were engaged,but he still fought with Zixuan! Not to mention he put this girl in danger plenty of times!"

Xia had to bite her lip to refrain from telling Madam Yu off. She clenched her fists.

Fortunately Yanli lessened the tension by bringing up Jeng Cheng's success back in Gusu, making Madam Yu's mood raise a bit.

After she leaves with Jinzhu and Yinzhu ,Wei Wuxian walks up to Yanli and thanks her for saving him from Madam Yu's wrath.

Yanli giggles.
"The other disciples haven't seen you for a while. Go and say hello."

Wei Wuxian turns around to look at two disciples who looked exhausted from Madam Yu's training. One noticed Wei Wuxian and was about to call out to him until he noticed Jiang Fengmian standing a bit further.
