Chapter 8

              After school, you all walked home together as usual. Hinata still seemed off.

"Hinata, can I talk to you?" You ask.

"Okay." He agreed.

"I'll come too." Manami insisted.

"I want to talk to Hinata." You say.

Manami looked incredibly pissed off. You and Hinata went ahead of everyone.

"You seem off. I just wanted to make sure everything's okay." You say.

"It's Manami. She's being mean to you guys, and she only wants to hang out with me." Hinata explains.

"So do you not like her?"

"Well, there's something that I should probably tell you. Me and Manami used to date last year. But I'm 99.9% sure that she still likes me. But I don't know if I still like her or not. But I need to stop thinking about it. The big game is tonight."

"You can come over if you want. I can walk you to school for the game."

"Practice starts at 4:30pm, and the game starts at 5:30. So we can hang out for about an hour and a half."

"Okay. Then let's go." You say, walking to your house with Hinata.

But before you leave, you see someone behind a bush. Manami was watching the whole time.

You try to act like nothing happened. But before you know it, you're at your house. You both walk inside. Your mom is standing right there.

"Ooo! Who is this?" She winks.

"My friend from school. Were just gonna watch a movie." You explain.

Your mom takes out a box of pocky and eats it. You could see the hunger in Hinata's eyes. You knew he wanted pocky.

"You want pocky?" You ask.

"YES." He cheers. "P-Please...!"

You pull out some pocky and give it to Hinata. You both go to the coach and turn on a movie.

"Popcorn?" You question.

"No. Pocky." He says, devouring the pocky.

~Time skip, the end of the movie~

You fell asleep, and wakeup with your head on Hinata shoulder. He had wrapped a blanket around you.

"Your awake!" Hinata smiles. "But I have to get to practice. Let's go."

You guys start walking to practice together.

"We should've asked Tsukishima to drive us. It's freezing out here and I left my jacket in school." Hinata regrets. You were freezing, too.

"I'll race you to the school." You say, prepping to run.

"Ok. On your mark...get set..."

"THREE!" You laugh.

You guys dash to school. You didn't realize when you decided to race, that Hinata would crush you. He did play Volleyball, after all. Hinata stops, realizing your far behind.

"Want a piggyback ride?" Hinata asks.

"Sure." You say, hopping on his back. You guys run to school. It was nothing like when Manami got on Hinata's back. Your now at school and walk to the gym with Hinata. There're people from the Volleyball team everywhere. They're all warming up for the game.

"Oh no! I left my water bottle at your house!" Hinata panics.

"It's okay. I'll bring it for the game." You promise.

You walk home and receive a text from Hayato.

 Hayato: Meet me at the grocery store in 10.
