Venus Marigold was thinking about the man she once worked with to shorten her prison time, Abner Krill again. Abner was a helpful yet kinda scary loner with long fingers and a charming smile. Vee walked over to the window and reflected on her noisy surroundings. She had always hated crowded Corto Maltese with its bad, boring, buildings. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel lonely. Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the delightful figure of Abner Krill.
Vee gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a lovable, daring, tea drinker with curvy legs and what some say, beautiful eyes. Her friends saw her as a caring, sweet angel. Once, she had even jumped into a river and saved a drowning baby bird. But not even a lovable person who had once jumped into a river and saved a drowning baby bird, was prepared for what Abner had in store today. The snow flurried like ice in a wood chipper, making Vee confident. Vee grabbed a tattered newspaper that had been strewn nearby; she massaged it with her fingers.
As Vee stepped outside and Abner came closer, she could see the lovely smile on his face. "I am here because I want love from you, Venus" Abner stated, in a quiet tone. He slammed his fist against Vee's chest, with the force of 1975 puppies. "I frigging love you, Venus Marigold." Vee looked back, even more confident and still fingering the tattered newspaper. "Abner, I love you, I always have since I first laid eyes on you" she replied.
They looked at each other with afraid feelings, like two thirsty, talented tortoises chatting at a very sweet wedding, which had classical music playing in the background and two gentle cats purring to the beat. Vee regarded Abner's long fingers and charming smile. She held out her hand. "Let's not fight anymore, Abner" she whispered, gently. "Hmph," pondered Abner. "Please?" begged Vee with puppy dog eyes. Abner looked like a beetroot, his body blushing like a ginger on a summers day. Then Abner came inside for a nice cup of tea with the love of his life.
