I was being discharged today, finally those days of lying in a hospital bed doing nothing all day was over. Now I can go home and watch seasons of friends and eat all the junk food I like , have the time of my life in my little cocoon of blankets. Maybe have sleepovers with the girls and recover with them..
I've still got to visit Lucy, they say she's still in a coma but I need to see for myself, so before I leave I'm going to go see her.I was lying in my hospital bed when mum came in with a wheel chair and said,
"You ready to go?"Was I ready? The answer is, "hell yeah, let's go."
Mum laughed at me, "your a dag."
I was already in the clothes that mum brought in earlier today, a pair of black sports shorts and a plain grey v-neck t-shirt.
They were comfortable and it was a hot day, so I told mum to get me those.I lifted my legs over the bed and mum helped me get into the wheel char, it was harder then it sounded.
I got comfortable and mum took me out of the room, the hall wasn't busy for it was a private from I was in but there were a few nurses and patients roaming the halls.
This hospital smells like hand sanitizer and death, it's not a pleasant smell."Remember we are going to Lucy's room before we go home." I stated to mum.
"That's right, I almost forgot." She did a complete U-turn and went the opposite way.
5 minutes later of me fidgeting with my shirt, we reached Lucy's room. We knocked on the door and Lucy's dad answered, he let me in straight away without saying anything.
Her mum and most of her family were in here, I felt heart broken to see all the sad faces and Lucy's mums tear streaked face.
Her bed was crowed by her family but they all moved aside when mum was pushing me through the crowd, to her bed.
I finally got a glimpse of her.
My heart broke in to a billion pieces, she has tubes around her mouth, she is so still, her breathing is shallow. She's so pale, she has a massive scratch up her face from a shard of glass. Seeing her like this made my heart hurt, I wanted to cry."C'mon let's leave cat here so she can have a moment with Lucy." I could recognise her voice, it was her mum. She sounded so hurt, like she didn't want to leave her daughters side.
I turned to her and smiled a sincere one, adding 'thank you' along with it.
I turned back to Lucy and I heard everyone leave the room, including mum. I pushed myself over to Lucy's side and took her hand.
I started to tear up,
"I'm so sorry this happened to you. I only just woke up from my own coma, so it's time to wake up from yours. I don't know if you can hear me but please don't leave us, we need you. Please," I started to shake, I couldn't get the words out, it was so hard. "They tell me that you might not make it but your strong, you can make it you have to make it, not just for ours but for yours. If you leave us your never going to graduate, get married to Blake and have children like you've always planned to do so. Lucy.. Please.. Please stay." I cried on her hospital bed.
10 minutes later Lucy's mum walked in and gave me a big hug and said,
"I know darling, I know."We finished our hug and mum came in and took me out to the car.
"You okay sweetie?" Mum said once we got in the car.
"Yeah, it just hurts to see her like that." I said truthfully.
"I know sweetie but she will get better. Just hope." Mum sent a small smile my way. I returned it.
"Where's dad?" I ask mum, trying to change the subject.
"He's at work, he got time off because of your accident." She told me.
"Did anybody else visit?" I ask curious.
"Yeah. Calista, Lauren and Aj. They all came in with flowers and teddies."
"Yeah I saw that, my room was pretty full with flowers and 'get well' balloons." I laughed when I pictured my hospital room again.
It was a 40 minute drive from John Hunter to Singleton so I took out my head phones and phone the police managed to recover for me, and listened to some music on my way home.

Images of the accident invaded my mind, I woke up screaming and I couldn't stop, I couldn't open my eyes, the images kept coming. I was drowning in it.
All of a sudden a pair of arms wrapped around my shoulders, I could hear mum talking,"Sweetie wake up, it's okay." After hearing those words could stop screaming and open my eyes.
I looked at her and I started to cry."Mum, I saw it. I saw it all happen again." I said sobbing.
"Sweetie, it will take time."
