His eyes are what captivated her. It was impossible not to notice them. he must have heard multiple times how beautiful they are so she said nothing. she didn't bring them up because she wanted to seem different than everyone else. she wanted to be noticed by him even if it was for five minutes she just wanted him to see her. "he's out of my league" those words replaying over and over made her insecure. she told her friends about him, her parents, even her younger sister. She fell in love with him but had not spoke a word to him before. she didn't fall in love with him but the scenarios and fantasies she made up of him. Still her knowing this about herself she still had hope, hope that he would notice her. she was playing hard to get even though he's never looked her direction. she was being loyal to him but he has no clue about her. but everyone has feelings like this.. right? She wanted to feel his embrace she had dreams of doing so before but it just doesn't seem the same as reality would. she started to feel like it was never going to happen she wanted to make the first move but was afraid to be rejected. she knew that actual interaction with him will change her perspective of him either in a good or bad way. she weighed out the pros and the cons but she ended up coming to a conclusion that she would rather watch from afar. the next day on her usual jog she slows down to see him picking a flower for another woman. furious, she ran towards them. forgetting that he was not hers just yet. she was already too close for comfort and when she realized what she was doing it was too late.
"can I help you?"this was the first time he has ever acknowledged her.
"uh hi-
she couldn't think of an excuse quick enough so she began to stutter and she felt her face getting hot and her heart began to race.
"do you need directions" the woman said
"YES! I- I need to get to the train station"
she said she needed to get to the train station yet she already had her own car.
as he gave her directions time seemed to slowly come to a holt.
being so close she took every detail of him in. In the light his beautiful brown eyes turned into a sweet buttermilk haze. watching him so close she couldn't help but swoon. his voice was raspy but also angelic and his lips were full and had a soft pink tint. his caramel, skin was so smooth, in her eyes he was perfect. as she finished admiring the man reality struck.
"did you hear me?" he said
"do you think you could repeat it one more time?"
He laughed and began reciting his previous lines.
"two rights and a left. first right down Bayley St. and the second down Hamilton St. the left would be down Mercer St. you got it?"
"I'm pretty sure ill be able to find it. lets pray haha."
"you're not from around here are you?"
he furrowed his eyebrows and made a confused expression.
"I actually just moved down here about 4 months ago, so I guess u can say I'm pretty new."
the woman interrupted
Excuse me, but I think you should let Liam walk you to the bus station before its too late it closes at 8 and its already 7:34.
she finally learned his name after 4 months of watching him she finally got close enough to him to hear it. its a step closer, she thought.
"are you sure mom? I don't want to leave you walking alone, the sun will set soon."
mom?? that woman is his mom?? she thought to herself a weight that she hadn't even noticed was pulled off her shoulders.
