The rain is pouring in Seoul tonight. The city which was usually bustling on Saturday night seemed to be quieter because of it but some places were crowded with people sheltering from the rain; one of them is the coffee shop at the end of downtown street.
"Americano for Park Chaeyoung!"
The tall blonde girl turned her head to the Barista's area as she heard a voice shouted mentioning her name.
She stood up from the stool by the window and walked to take her coffee.
"Planning not to sleep tonight?" asked the barista as she arrived at the area.
"Not, really. It's just .. it's still raining outside." she answered as she glanced out of the window.
"Ooh.. I bet you'll be up all night since it is your second cup of americano." the Barista commented in a worried tone.
"It's fine. I don't have to work on Sunday though." she replied and smiled before she took her coffee and walked heading back to her stool.
A few seconds later, she put her coffee on the table as she arrived, next to her book, then sat back on her stool. She took a sip of her iced coffee before she threw her gaze outside the window.
The blonde girl watched the people passing by on the sidewalk, it seemed that not everyone was happy about the rain. She heard some people cursed as they took shelter in front of the shop closest to them, while some people seemed unperturbed by the rain and continued on their way.
She sipped back her coffee as her eyes swept the road in front of her until her eyes caught the reflection of the Barista on the window. She knitted her brows as she realized something about the girl who served her coffee today.
It is not the first time for Chaeyoung to come to this coffee shop, but she never saw that girl before.
Who is she? Is she a new barista here?
She asked to herself, mentally, even though she knew she wouldn't get the answer.
She turned her head to the Barista area as she looked for the usual Barista who has became her friend.
Did Boby quit his job? Why didn't he say anything when I came here last Wednesday?
Then suddenly Chaeyoung froze when she heard Someone Like You suddenly played in the shop. It reminded her of the reason she came here. And suddenly her eyes became teary.
Her ex-boyfriend is getting married tomorrow.
She turned her head back to the front and wiped the tears that already fell down her cheeks, but the tears kept falling.
Her eyes scanned the room of the coffee shop through the reflection on the window, as her mind wandered back to the first time she came to this shop,
to her first date with her ex-boyfriend.
She remembered what he ordered that day and how he laughed when she ordered her drink,
"You can make tea by yourself at your apartment, you know?" he teased her.
"And you can make coffee by yourself too." Chaeyoung replied, not wanting to lose.
"It's different. I don't have that coffee machine at my apartment. It tastes better here, it's more delicious."
"Delicious? You drink black coffee without sugar, how can it be delicious?" she couldn't believe of what she just heard.
"It's called americano. And here, try it." he said as he handed the cup to her.
