Please forget that I made Umbridge headmistress a few chapters ago. I completely forgot the timeline and was clearly on crack. So just ignore that slip up I've removed it.
And I'm aware the timeline is a bit off, but just ignore that I may change it when I come back to edit, but I quite like how I've written it and it doesn't really make that big of a difference :)Chapter Ninety-Four
"MS. CHANG, I am going to ask you one more time." Umbridge hit her desk as Cho cried in the seat opposite her.
Aria leaned against the doorframe, watching in disgust. If she stopped crying and spilled the beans then she would be free to leave and exempt from expulsion.
Aria would have told Umbridge everything herself, except she didn't know where the D.A meetings were being held, firstly, and secondly, she couldn't risk exposing that she had known about them all along.
"Snape. I have a better plan."
"Mmm?" Aria listened intently.
"Am I correct in assuming that your father keeps Veritaserum handy?"
"Yes."
"Go and grab some for me, would you?" Umbridge smiled sweetly. "It's sure to make this process much faster and much less... noisy."
"Right." Aria glanced back at Cho and grimaced. "I'll be right back."
She headed out of Umbridge's office and down to her father's storeroom. He was inside of it and surprised to see her.
"May I use some Veritaserum, father?"
"What for?"
"Umbridge wants it. We're interrogating Cho regarding the D.A."
He shook his head and handed Aria a small vial. "I don't think helping that woman is wise, Aria."
"I would usually agree, but this time it's quite necessary. Those Gryffindors need to be taught a lesson."
"Harry—"
"I know, father." Aria was quick to cut him off. She didn't need reminding that her brother was one of those awful Gryffindors.
There was no way around this, though. It was everyone or no one and there were more people she hated in there than ones she cared about. The one she had cared about betrayed her. So now it was her turn.
She went back to Umbridge's office, surprised to see all the Slytherin prefects now in the room as well. She handed Umbridge the vial and watched as she force-fed it to Cho.
"Now tell me. Where is this secret organization?"
"You know about it?" Draco wormed his way next to Aria.
"I'm not speaking to you."
"Don't take out your anger for your boyfriend on me."
"I know what you did." She whispered angrily.
"The room of requirement. Where is that?" Umbridge looked at Aria.
She shrugged. "Haven't you had them watching over a wall for the past few weeks. Surely it's there." She gestured towards the prefects.
"Ah, quite right." She smiled down at Cho. "You've been of much help, deary. Thank you." She squeezed Cho's face before adjusting her pink blouse and leaving the classroom. "Bring her with, grab your wands and follow me."
"You heard her." Aria gestured to Cho with her head and watched as two prefects lifted her and followed Umbridge.
"So, what did I do then, Snape?" Draco resumed their conversation.
"Oh, you know exactly what you did." She snorted. "It doesn't matter, though. In fact, I should thank you."
"You liked my little trick?"
"Not exactly, but I caught George snogging some other girl. If it hadn't been for your little trick, I wouldn't have known."
"I guess you owe me some gratitude then." He smirked.
"Don't be stupid. I'm still furious with you."
Umbridge stopped. She pointed her wand towards the familiar wall and blew it apart.
It reminded Aria of when she had blown up the Gryffindor wall. Funnily enough, it was because of Katie as well. That girl just had to go, look at all the trouble she was causing.
Aria stepped into view and smirked as she saw the horrified faces of the D.A. "Not a very good spot, I'm afraid." She wandered in as Umbridge gave the word. Aria walked right up to George.
"What are you doing?"
"Just getting my revenge." She eyed the room, searching for Katie. She glared at her. "I hope you enjoy being expelled." She spoke loud enough so that the whole room could hear and then turned to Harry and lowered her voice. "I can make arrangements for you, don't worry."
"I don't want your arrangements." He spat. "I never should have trusted you! You're just like them!"
Aria shook her head. "You're wrong. I'm on your side."
"You're only a filthy Slytherin."
His words stabbed like a dagger in her chest and she stepped back in horror. All she had ever done since finding out that he was her brother was try to be there for him, to be the best sister she could. "So be it, then."
She watched as he was taken out of the room. She felt the glares of all his friends, but all that mattered to her was how Harry felt.
A pain reaped through her chest. He hated her now and she had made it happen.
And there was nothing that she could do to fix it.
