~Ari~

Alright, so here's the deal. There was a good reason why I didn't tell Dare about Kaine. My brother and I went through a lot together during our childhood, no thanks to our parents. I'm really worried that Dare would try something. Even though I didn't tell Dare, I should have told Denise right? She is after all my best friend.

Wrong.

Denise has a telepathic connection with Dare. That means whatever Denise knows, Dare knows. Well unless Denise blocks the information from him, but I doubt she would. The both of them are close like rice.Sometimes I just want to smack them in the face just so that they would stop making goo-goo eyes at each other. I surprise that they haven't had like five children already.

Anyway, after Kaine and Dare's glaring competition, we all went to sit on my sofa. All of us stayed silent until Denise, who was totally oblivious of the tension, said "awkward" In a singsong tone.I looked at her in exasperation, but she broke the tension in the room.

"Umm.... " I started. "Kaine, this is Dare, my brother. Dare, Kaine." My introduction seemed to break their staring contest and the both of them, together with Denise turned to look at me, their eyes questioning. Great. Not.

"Who is this werewolf, Ari?" Dare asked, his tone bored, but I knew better. Oh boy, I'm in a whole lot of trouble. "That werewolf can answer that question himself, thank you very much." Kaine said dryly. I glared at him to shut up before saying, "he's my handler and I'm sorry I didn't tell you."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Denise said in a hurt tone. "Cuz your bond with Dare would've busted me away? "I said in a 'duh' tone.

"I'm not just her handler, I'm her mate." Kaine's voice suddenly cut in. I turn to gape at him."I am NOT your mate." I emphasized on the word not. "Ari! Don't be rude." Dare said calmly. I look at him disbelievingly.Dare turned to address Kaine. "Why don't you stay for dinner?" Okay, at this point I'm totally surprise that Dare was not angry and he haven't tried to do anything to Kaine. That is just mind boggling. I will never understand the complex mind of my brother.

"I would love to." Kaine replied, smirking at me. Ugh, I am so not able to get out of this. Damn that infuriating, hot mess -but infuriating nevertheless- guy for saying yes. I sighed before asking my brother, "you're cooking, right?" Dare nodded.

"You look familiar, like I've seen you before." Kaine frowned in concentration. "I remember now! You're the second wealthiest man in the world." Kaine exclaimed. Wow, I never knew my brother had that much money. That means he has like billions of dollars. My future nieces and nephews are gonna be so rich. Lucky children. "I need blood, Ari. You wanna come with me to get some?".Denise suddenly piped up. Denise gave me a devious smile and I felt my lips tugging into a grin, pretty much giving away my answer. Oh yeah, we are gonna have a lot of fun getting that blood.

Right now, its almost eight. Denise and I are on a roof of a building next to a blood bank.

"Alright, I'm gonna use my power to hide us in the shadows. You ready? " I asked, anticipation in my voice. "Calm down girl, I should be the one excited. "Denise teased. I smiled at her before wrapping her and myself in shadows. Denise used her shifting power to get us into the blood bank. Shifting allows you to get to a place you want to go by thinking about the place. Cool, I know. It is also handy for going to places you have never been before. We shifted into the storage where they kept the packaged blood. "Quick, before the nurse comes in!" I hissed at Denise, rushing her. We took the bags of blood and put them into the duffel bag we brought. "Who are you and how did you get in?" a voice asked, alarmed. I motion Denise to keep going before turning to the nurse who walked in on us. I was pretty surprised that we didn't hear her.
