It wasn't your fault. It wasn't your fault that you had completely given up. Everything has just felt fluffy and blurry at this point in your life. Like none of it was real. You were just an old washed out photograph, waiting to completely fade away.
So that was your goal. Fade away into nothingness. Be forgotten. As I said, it wasn't your fault you had completely given up, it was just how you thought from this point on.
Under your eyes were big purple bags from the lack of sleep you had, not to mention every time you looked in the mirror it was all you saw, along with your small and fragile body.
Some days you would look at photographs of skinny Steve, making the similarities between you and him. You looked worse, but you're bodies' were practically the same.
You and him had one difference, though.
He was almost completely happy, and you were not even close.
You sighed as you put away the smiling photograph of skinny Steve that was laying on your desk from the last time you saw it. You pulled your black hoodie over your body before exiting the room, making your way to dinner.
Once you got in the dining table, you plopped down at the table, placing your head at your hands.
Natasha sighed as she looked at you, "Y/N, we need to talk."
"About what?" You asked boredly.
"You," Yelena answered for her sister.
You picked your head back up and faced her and your mother, "What about me?"
Natasha gave you an unconvinced look, "Y/N, we've noticing the things happen to you. You don't think we notice the eye bags you try to hide everyday? The fact that you hide behind a hoodie because you're skinnier? I know you throw up your food every night."
You tried to protest but she glared at you.
"Don't lie to me."
You shook your head, trying to stop the inevitable tears that lurked in your eyes, "Fine. Whatever. You win, mom. Happy?"
Tears welled up in Yelena's eyes.
"Why, Y/N? Why?" she started crying, but that didn't stop her, "Why do you do this to yourself? You know we love you very much."
"I know you love me!" You broke down, "But I-I..."
You trailed off, not knowing what to say next.
A sad look dawned on Natasha's face, "Y/N, you're a strong, beautiful, courageous girl. I know that everyone struggles on the inside, because trust me, I know."
Tears streamed down her face.
"So, please, tell me what's happening. Why are you doing this to yourself??"
You sighed and shrugged.
In actuality, you didn't know.
You didn't want to look like other girls like others did, you weren't starving yourself because you hated the way you look, and yeah, you knew that you had stopped because you gave up, but there was no real reason behind it.
You loved your life.
Every second of it.
So now it was time to ask yourself that question.
Why?
"I don't know," you shrugged as you sniffled, wiping the tear that cascaded down your cheek. You looked between the crying redhead and blonde,
"I gave up."
