June 10th, 1962

"And that will end it for this unit, I hope you all continue to use this material in the future"

Summer was so close, I didn't pay any attention to what the teacher was saying, just the hands on the clock slowly making their way around the circle, waiting for them to hit the top

"You ready to get outta here?" Phillips whispered leaning to my desk from his

"This is what I've been waiting for since the first day of school" I whispered back

He smirked and leaned back into his desk before the teacher noticed. My eyes went straight back to glaring at the clock

Summer is and will always be my favorite part of the year, and not just because of school, but because of baseball.

Baseball filled my whole summer, It's all I've ever done, It's my life.

I played every summer on the Tigers with all my friends. My brother Jack made the team a few years back and it took a lot of convincing but they let me play too after seeing I wasn't that bad.

Now we have all played together for the last three years and each summer gets better and better.

Ringgggg

"Finally" Phillips said

Everyone sprung out their seats and stormed right out of that classroom

"Thank you Mrs. Spencer!" I said as I was the last one to leave

"You too y/n, have a great summer" she said and waved

I smiled and left. I usually always thank my teachers on the last day of school.

"You're always so nice" Phillips said as we both walked out of the school

"Depends on the person" I said smirking, he automatically knew why I said that.

We both laughed as he put his arm around me and we walked to get our bikes

"Hey lovebirds" Parker teased coming up from behind squeezing himself between us wrapping his arms our shoulders

"Am I interrupting something" He teased continually

Parker was another player on the team I've known since I joined. I've always been close with him

"Your really annoying you know that" I said

"Yeah like I don't hear that enough from you two" He said

We all laughed and grabbed our bikes.

"Meet up at the field in 30?" Phillips asked "I'll tell the others"

"Got it"

We all rode off in separate directions back to our houses.

When I got home I wasted no time and got everything packed up and ready to go

"Your not even gonna bother saying hello" a voice said from my bedroom doorway

I turned around to my door, It was Jack.

"I don't have time for hello's" I said turning back around continuing to get my things togethers "I'm meeting everyone at the field in 10"

"Another summer, another season of baseball 24/7" He said

"Yep" I said putting my backpack on "Pretty much"

"Now if you excuse me I must get going" I said squeezing past him "I'll be back in time for the bonfire"
