Chapter 1. Life As A University Professor

My POV: I was sound asleep when I heard my alarm clock going and our family dog Byron bark I moan softly and sat up in bed trying to wake up my fiancée Lillian sat up next trying to wake up

Good morning darling Lillian said

Good morning I replied tiredly

I got up and went into the bathroom while I was in the bathroom Lillian got my suit out and laid it on the bed then she told me that she was going to go help Nelson our family butler with breakfast I got into the shower then brushed my teeth then got dressed for the day then I headed downstairs with Byron by my side

Good morning Sir Lawrence Mrs Cox our house keeper greeted me at the bottom of the stairs

Good morning Mrs Cox I replied

Have a good day at the University Mrs Cox said as she went about her morning chores

I will thank you I replied

I walked into the dining room I saw Lillian sitting eating her breakfast and drinking her coffee I came from a very wealthy family I had inherited an estate called Talbot Hall that has been in my family for several generations starting with my great grandfather Sir Martin Talbot I had inherited everything from my father Sir John Boris Talbot who had recently died I'am eldest son so I knew I was going to inherited everything including the title of Sir in front of my name I was fine with it I most recently accepted a position at a University in America in New Mexico and I was happy I mainly accepted the position as more like a hobby or something to do so I'am not board and I was going to teaching about theater and acting which is something I know best and I was excited about it I finished my breakfast then I got ready to go Nelson met me at the front door with my briefcase and lunch

Here you are Sir Lawrence your briefcase and your lunch that Milady made for you Nelson said handing them to me

Thank you Nelson I replied

You are welcome Sir Nelson replied helping me into my coat

Right well I will see all of you tonight then I replied

Yes Sir have a wonderful day Nelson replied

Thank you Nelson you as well I replied walking out to my roadster

I started up my car a 1941 roadster and drove onto the college campus I parked my car then went inside to get ready for the day I sat at my desk in front of the auditorium getting everything ready for the day then I waited waiting patiently for the students to come in then one by one the students piled into my classroom

Good morning class I said

Good morning Professor Talbot they all replied

I hope all of you had a wonderful break I know I did I said

The students smiled and chuckled softly then I began the day's lesson midway through teaching the lesson one of college counselors came in with a young man who looked nervous and shy I invited the young man to take a seat I learned that the young man's name was William H. Bonny but everyone called him Billy once I got Billy situated I went on with the lesson then the bell rang and it time for my next class

Mr Bonny? I asked

Yes sir? He asked nervously

Could you please come here for a minute I want to talk to you and get you caught up I replied gently

Oh uh alright he replied shyly

He walked over to me nervous I could tell he was new here and everything I went over the day's lesson and properly introduced myself as well once I got him all caught up on everything I let him head to his next class and let him know that he needed any help or anything to not hesitate to ask he smiled softly at me then he left the day went by fast before I knew it it was time to head home I could get that young man out of my mind I had hoped that he would be alright and I talked to Lillian about him and she became very concerned about him just like I had been after dinner it was time for bed the day was interesting and I could not wait for what this school year was going to bring
