A Glimmer of Hope

Chapter 1, Day 1

-JAY-
Jay had woken up from his slumber. His eyes were filled to the brim with sand as he rubs them intensely. He got up and started his ordinary routine by brushing his teeth with a dull red brush, and artificially-made toothpaste. After 2 minutes of brushing his teeth he spat out the paste and begin to rinse his mouth with cold water, eventually spitting it out too.
Jay grabbed his colourful towel and gently cleans his face, after which throwing it away into his washing machine. There, he walked over to his door and carefully slid it, walking out without even closing the door.

-NATHAN-
Nathan was a muscular boy with brown hair. He woke up earlier than Jay, and was fixing the shield module when it got beaten up from the asteroids that collided with it. He was drilling in the screws when Jay walked over. Nathan, who was unaware Jay was behind him, continuously inserted the screws back after fixing the module. Just half-way drilling in the last screws, Jay grabbed Nathan's shoulder and shouted "BOO!"
Nathan who got scared out of his dear life, grabbed a hammer from his toolbox and smashed Jay's left pinkie with it. While was intended to throw it at Jay
Jay sobbed like a baby and cried in a corner, rocking back and forth while holding his pinkie. Nathan chuckled a bit and grabbed his first-aid kit, and helped Jay with his pinkie.
"D-do you think my pinkie is broken?" Asked Jay in a worried voice
To which Nathan replied "Judging by the force, I'd say your pinkie should be fine." Jay then got angry. He didn't know if his pinkie was broken or not when Nathan said that. Jay then replied "F-fine?! You idiot! Why did you do that?!" Nathan sighed, then answered "You shouldn't of scared me like that you moron."
Jay, who has nothing else to say kept himself quiet as he looked at his wounded pinkie

-Charlotte-
when charlotte heard of all of that noise, she went out of her room and yelled at the 2 boys
"Why the hell are you guys screaming so much?"
Nathan grabbed Jay's finger and showed Charlotte, and she laughed "HEY! That's not funny!"
Charlotte and Nathan laughed at Jay for being an idiot, while at the same time feeling bad for his pinkie. Jay just sat there, looking like a total idiot
"It's ok Jay, we all make mistakes" Said Charlotte, putting her hand on Jay's shoulder.
Nathan continued to laugh.
