What is this feeling?

Where am I?

I blinked my eyes a few times, while the world around me slowly became clearer and clearer.

I'm in my room?

I could feel the soft texture of my blanket cover me, keeping me warm.

I could hear the light breeze that passed through the small gap from my opened windows.

Not long later, I felt some moisture on my face, which slowly trickled down my chin to my neck.

Why am I crying?

Why does my heart ache?

My hand instinctively reached out to my chest and I fisted my shirt in my hands.

The tears wouldn't stop.

I sat up on my bed, trying to clear my runny nose.

Sunlight bounced into my room and reflected off the walls.

It's a new day.

I heard a light flutter noise near me and I looked up to see a butterfly in my room.

Its wings were a light purple littered with numerous black spots.

Pretty.

The butterfly stayed in front of me for a while, as if it was trying to assess me.

I slowly reached out my finger, hoping it would come closer.

The purple butterfly flew towards my hand until it landed on my finger.

The contact made me feel something familiar.
