Chapter 25: Blessings

I woke up after hearing the loud sound that my alarm clock was making. I turned it off without taking my eye mask off.

Just when I was about to go back to sleep, it rang again so I stood up and removed my eye mask. I glared at my alarm clock while turning it off.

"How's ruining my dream?" I asked as if it could answer my question. Tumayo ako at pumunta sa CR para mag-hilamos at mag-toothbrush. I tied my hair and put some powder on my face before going down. I caught Mom and Dad inside the living room, talking seriously. Halos magsalubong tuloy ang mga kilay ko habang pinagmamasdan sila on my way to the dining room.

"Yow!" Shaun greeted after seeing me. Napangiwi ako nang makita siyang busy sa pagbabasa ng makapal na libro habang kumakain ng breakfast.

"Oh," I put my hands above my waist while squinting. "Anong meron kina Mom at Dad?" I asked, he just chuckled.

"Ngayon mo lang ba sila nakitang magkasama at nag-uusap?" he asked sarcastically, I just rolled my eyes and took my seat beside him. "Seems like it's your first time seeing them talking."

"No, I am just wondering why." I answered and looked at his book. Halos mapatakip ako sa mata nang makita na puro nerves sa ang binabasa niya. ang liliit pa ng texts kaya sumakit agad ang mata ko.

"Shanice," he called. I looked at him and raised my right eyebrow. He heaved a sigh, "Anong meron sa inyo ni Aizren?" he asked, which surprised me.

Ano nga bang meron sa amin?

We're not lovers. We're definitely not friends. He's just courting me and I was thinking enough for that.

"He's courting me," I answered. He got it. Alam kong alam niya 'yun kasi sa kanya ko lang naman nasasabi 'ang mga bagay na 'yun sa pamilyang ito. I can't even open up to Dad about it. I know he loves us, but he's strict when it comes to relationship. Kaya Shaun and I never tried dating...

Oh, he dated someone before. Hindi lang nag-work kaya hanggang date lang at walang higher level of relationship sa kanila.

"How about Blaze?" he asked, making me stop.

Blaze?

What's with that guy?

Hindi ko magets yung point niya, why is he asking me about Blaze? He's not courting me and we're just... project buddies?

"He's not courting you, is he?" he asked again, staring at me.

"Nope, why would he?" I asked, starting my meal. "We both know that we don't like each other. Wala lang naman yun." I even rolled my eyes.

"I don't know that." He said without looking at me. "Baka ikaw lang ang nakakaalam n'yan."

"Shaun!" I exclaimed and even hit his arm. He just chuckled,

"See! Why are you blushing! I am so sure that you like him," he teased me more. Pakiramdam ko naman ay pinagpawisan ako dahil doon.

"I don't!" I said, defending myself from his judgments. Napaka! "I mean, I like him. But I also like Ard, Cendrix, Kheiro, and Neo. Even Aizren,"

"Yeah, but you like Blaze on a different level from them." Shaun insisted,

"Let me tell you, Shanice. Kapag hindi mo kayang panindigan si Aizren Treivor, you don't have to insist feeling the same way to him." natahimik ako dahil doon. I am thinking of a reason why wouldn't I dignify my feelings for him? Besides, Aizren is a good guy. A better man, better than the others. I mean, that's not an insult.
