[y/n] wasn't stupid. Living beside Tsukishima, going to the same school, being in the same class, she knew that he was avoiding her. There was no way in hell they had "happened" to miss each other every time they managed to come across one another.

It was blatantly obvious that Tsukishima was purposely avoiding her. She knew it when she had met his eyes, spotting a fleeting sense of panic before he blinked away the emotion and pivoted on his heels, heading in the opposite direction. It was becoming more and more annoying with the amount of times they had run into each other within the last few days.

"You look peppy." Kageyama pointed out as he walked by, glancing her up and down to observe her jittery behavior. His sudden interjection made her jump, turning around to face him with a semi-surprised look on her face. "What?"

"Don't sneak up on me like that. I thought you were about to attack me."

"Why would I- nevermind." Kageyama sipped on his milk carton aggressively. His blue eyes examined her flushed expression, waiting for an explanation as to why she was so skittish right now.

Running a hand through her hair, she pushed aside the hair in her face and laughed. "Well, I'm going out with Oikawa-san tonight, and I was getting a little nervous thinking about it."

"To where?" The raven haired boy asked with raised eyebrows. He didn't necessarily care where or what they were doing but he felt inclined to ask about her whereabouts just in case he had to come down there and challenge his senpai to a 1v1 volleyball game.

She pursed her lips. "Uhh, I actually don't know. He just wanted to go somewhere together." The girl shrugged with uncertainty.

In all honesty, Oikawa had never really specified where they'd be going for their second date. He had texted the night before, asking her if it was okay with her to go on another date the next Friday evening. Of course, she said it was fine but didn't ask where they'd be going in fear of being "too annoying" of some sort, which led to her not knowing where they'd go.

"Oh. Good luck then." The blue eyed boy said with a curt nod, walking off towards the vending machine to buy another milk carton and harass Hinata who happened to be buying a drink at the same time.

[y/n] sighed softly and waved at the boy who wouldn't even see the action. "Thanks."

Turning back to her path, she took a deep breath and tried to think everything through for a second. With Oikawa and Tsukishima on her mind, she couldn't really figure out what to do about either of them. If only Tsukishima would show his face once more.

---

Arriving home, she instantly rushed upstairs to throw her bag onto her bed and head into the bathroom. It wasn't time to get going but she didn't want to look overly excited when she got there, so she decided to shower now and allow her hair to air dry before Oikawa came to get her.

The shower was rather quick to due to the lack of washing since she had already washed her hair the previous night.

She jumped out and put on some lounging clothes before heading out into her room to gather her stuff. Her eyes instinctively flickered over to the window of Tsukishima's room, searching whatever part of his room she could see for the blond boy who seemed to be a ghost.

His room looked neat and untouched, displaying that he hadn't arrived home just yet. His lack of presence was beginning to frustrate her.

"I can't even yell at you, you ass." She rolled her eyes, turning towards the door and making her way downstairs to find something quick to eat. There was still a lot of time before she had to leave.

"I have no time!" She cried as she pulled on a shirt and fixed her hair quickly.

Time was running out as she received the "I'm outside" text from Oikawa who had shown up on time. It was her fault for falling asleep on the couch with popcorn in her hand but who could blame her with the comfiness of the couch and the warmth of the popcorn in her palm.

By the time she had gotten almost ready, he was already approaching the house and wasn't too far from the door. It was making her panic.

The sound of Tsukishima's door made her eyes dart in that direction and her body soon moved towards the window. She lit up slightly when he sat down at his desk, unintentionally giving her a chance to say something to him.

"Kei, over here!" She called out, waving him down with one of her hands. He didn't move at first, pretending to ignore her. "Are you deaf? I'm trying to talk to you!"

Blinking slowly, he glanced in her direction and rose an eyebrow. "What?"

"Don't 'what' me. Where have you been these past few days? I've been looking for you." [y/n] said with a chuckle, almost amused. At times like this, she wasn't all that great at picking up people's emotions.

Tsukishima cocked an eyebrow before shrugging. "Around." He muttered blankly.

A soft laugh left her lips. "C'mon, don't be an ass. Just talk to me, please." There was a hint of desperation in her voice, and he heard it.

For a moment, his shoulders went limp and his hands fell still. He could feel the frustration between his eyebrows soften for a second as he thought of all the ways he could voice his feelings without sounding like a total idiot or jerk. He inhaled slowly and exhaled deeply—his mouth parted slightly.

"[y/n]-chan, are you ready? Your mom said I could come get you if you weren't out by now." Oikawa's voice filled the room as he slowly walked up the stairs.

All of a sudden, Tsukishima was stiff all over again. He clenched his jaw, sighing so deeply that it sounded like a scoff. Waving a hand, he muttered, "It's nothing. Just get going already."

"Obviously it's something if you're acting like thi-"

"Just shut up and get the hell out of here already. You're being annoying." Tsukishima snapped, standing up to march over to his window and yank his curtains shut. The words rung in her ears as she stood there with a dumbfounded look on her face.

Her jaw dropped and she had to repeat the words in her mind a few times to get it. Me? Annoying? After he was avoiding me for so long then had the audacity to yell at me afterwards? Does that even make sense? Huh.

"Are you ready, [y/n]-chan?" Oikawa asked once more as he appeared in her doorway, casually glancing around her room that was messier than usual. He didn't mind it since it looked much cleaner than what he had seen before.

Turning around to face Oikawa, [y/n] plastered a smile on her face whilst chasing away the conversation she just had with Tsukishima.

"I'm ready. Let's go."
