Eve's p.o.v.

It didn't take long for me to reach my destination and once there I breathed in the familiar air as I made my way into the city. I knew what to expect for the most part at Heaven's Arena so I wasn't worried but I also wasn't in a rush to get there. Stretching, I looked around the area seeing many people going about their day happily and I smiled.

"Alright now that I'm here I should probably find some food and a change of clothes before I work my way up Heaven's Arena. I've been in this since the hunter exam started and I think it's time for a change" I said to myself and began wandering the area in search of somewhere to eat.

Eventually I came across a small coffee shop and I shrugged as I went inside. I ordered something small and sat down as I sighed bored. There wasn't much to do around here so once I got to Heaven's Arena I thought about taking my time with it instead of rushing through like I did the exam. Unfortunately I knew I wouldn't get much until at least the 100th floor so if I wanted any benefits I'd have to make my way up fast. Once my order arrived, I smiled at the young man as he gave it to me and giggled seeing him become flustered before walking away quickly. I sat in silence as I watched people from outside the window and frowned thinking about Illumi's threat back at the exam site.

"Hmph he's become such an annoying brat lately. If he thinks his threats are going to scare me then he's sadly mistaken." I muttered and placed my head in my hand as I looked towards the direction of Heaven's Arena. I remember going through it with Illumi when we were children but I didn't pass the 200th floor like he did. I didn't want to. It was something I found fun since I was doing it with him but when he went on and I left I didn't see him for a few more months. I guess that's when he started growing distant. I was snapped out of my thoughts when the young man from before had come back and was trying to get my attention.

"Excuse me miss? Miss?" He called and I looked at him sitting up.

"Hmm? Oh I'm sorry did you need something?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Actually I wanted to know if you needed anything?" He asked and I smiled softly at him.

"I believe I am fine for now but thank you for asking." I answered smiling at him and he gave me a nervous smile as he rubbed the back of his neck. With that, I knew there was more he wanted to ask me and I hummed as I waited patiently for him to continue.

"Ah w-well I guess I wanted to ask you a question." He continued and I leaned forward a bit as I stirred some sugar into my tea.

"Oh? Well I'm all ears. Ask away." I encouraged and he took a deep breath before looking at me confidently.

""I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me sometime?" He asked and I smiled as I hummed amused. He was cute if I was being honest. His dark green eyes held hope for my answer and were warm and caring. His short brown hair looked soft to the touch and framed his face perfectly and defined his features well.  He seemed to be in his late teens and his fair skin seemed unmarked by the world leading me to believe he wasn't into many physical activities.  Looking up at him I smiled softly and stood from my seat having finished my meal.

"As much as I appreciate the offer, I'll have to decline. I'm not looking for anyone romantically at the moment so I'm sorry. But I do appreciate your courage so I'll leave you with this at least." I declined and kissed his cheek softly feeling him tense as I did so. I smiled a giggled when I pulled away seeing the blush that had spread across his cheeks and ran my hand along his shoulder as I walked away leaving him there dazed. Before I left, I quickly went to the restroom and changed into a short black dress with a dark blue corset vest, black tights and black heels to tie it all together.

Leaving the café, I began making my way towards Heaven's Arena. Once there I looked up at the building admiring the structure and how tall it was before heading inside and signing up for a match.  Once I got to the desk I filled out the forms I was given and listened to the woman behind the desk.

"Eve Rose you are number 2,032. On the first floor they will call you by your number so try not to forget it. Please go on ahead" She explained and I nodded as I made me way further into the building until I found a stadium with 16 rings in the middle of it all with fights already happening. I knew it wouldn't be long until my number was called so I sat in the bleachers with the audience watching the matches that were taking place. Sure enough I was called to ring E and as I stood I had a few members of the audience look at me confused as I made my way to the ring.

Once there I came face to face with a massive man that wasn't only big in muscle but in weight. He took one look at me as I entered the ring and began to laugh making me frown annoyed.

"I'm going to be fighting a girl!? Careful she might break a nail!" He laughed and I crossed my arms waiting for him to finish.

"Are you almost done? You are such a rude monstrosity of a man if I can even call you that. I'd like to get this match over with so I can move on if you don't mind." I said coldly and he glared at me before laughing again.

"Wait wait wait, you actually think you're gonna beat me and move on!? Ha! that's the funniest thing I've ever heard! Why don't you surrender now sweetheart and save us all the trouble of seeing such a pretty face get beaten." He exclaimed confident and I sighed as I waited for the ref to begin the fight.

The moment it began the man charged at me and I simply dodged making him stumble and I used that to my advantage. With one swift movement I crouched down and spun knocking his legs out from underneath him. The man collapsed to the ground and I waited for him to get back up as the crowd cheered for him. Soon enough he got back up and I noted the angered and embarrassed look he held as he glared at me making me grin amused.

"What's the matter? I thought you were so sure about this fight that there was no doubt you'd win!" I taunted with an innocent look and the man charged at me once more. Using his momentum to my advantage, I swiftly hooked my foot underneath him and flipped backwards sending him crashing into the wall behind us. I stood there balanced on one hand as I watched to make sure he wouldn't get up and gently flipped back around so I was on my feet. Looking at the ref, I smiled waiting for his judgement and placed my hand on my hip.

"Wait this says you've already been to the 200th floor! That was an interesting fight. Go to the 180th floor." He said handing me a ticket and I shrugged. I was in no rush but at the same time I needed the money and a place to stay so I wasn't going to argue about it.

Walking away, I left the room and made my way to an elevator so I could go to the 18x 0th floor. Once there, I went collected the money I had earned and went to the private room that was offered. It had a large bed to the side of the room with clean white sheets and a large window on that gave a beautiful view of the city. There was a black dresser next to the bed and a tv on the opposite side of the room. It was a nice room but I knew I wouldn't be staying here since my room would change the farther I went up.

Sitting on the bed, I relaxed and untied the ribbon from my hair looking at it. As I ran my fingers over the charm I remembered when Hisoka gave it to me in trick tower and felt my lips twitch forming a small smile. It hadn't been long since the exam ended but part of me missed the insane magician. Shaking my head, I set the ribbon and charm on the dresser beside the bed and turned out the lights seeing it had gotten late. As I lied there in the dark, I tossed and turned uncomfortable before finally sitting up in the darkness groaning. I couldn't tell exactly what was wrong but I knew I felt cold so I pulled the blankets closer to me and using my nen, I formed a small lamp and set it on the dresser to light the room up a little. With that I settled back down and slowly fell asleep.
