I woke up to my mother lightly tapping my shoulder. It was 8AM.

"I have your morning medicine." She said. I sighed and sat up.

I took my medicine with some water.

I yawned.

"How long do I have to take this medicine?" I asked while I was stretching.

"Once the doctors says we're all clear, we can stop. But at the moment, we have no choice." She said.

I opened the cabinet door to get a glass of water. I drank it with a big gulp.

"Kay, I'm going to get ready now." I said, glancing at my bathroom.

"Ok." My mother said.

I went to my bathroom and stretched my arms. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. When I was done, I decided to put makeup on. For no reason.

I opened the bathroom door and stepped out.

"Wow, you look nice," my mother smiled, "what's the occasion?"

"I just felt like it today." I shrugged.

"Well, you look very pretty." My mother said and smiled.

"Thanks." I said and smiled back.

"Do you want breakfast?" She asked.

"Yes." I said.

"Ok, I'll make it for you," she said, "do you want eggs?"

"Yes please!" I said, suddenly excited.

She smiled. Then, she started to pre-heat the stove. I watched my mother cook the eggs.

When she was done, she sprinkled a little bit of salt and black pepper.

"Enjoy." My mother smiled.

"Thank you!" I said.

My mother left the kitchen and went upstairs, probably to finish her endless work. I had no siblings, so I was always bored.

When I was done, I cleaned up myself. I put the dirty plates away in our dishwasher. Then I headed up to my room and started to write something.

"How to..." I was thinking on my computer.

What condition did I have again?

"Oh right." I mumbled.

"Congenital heart disease."

I saw some images.

"Close by patch or device."

I looked at the cost of the surgery.

"Holy shit." I was looking at this one treatment.

It was 238144223Won. ($176,000.26)

"Ah, it's impossible." I said, and leaned my head on my bed.

I decided to leave this topic alone. My parents wouldn't take me to one of these treatments.

I sighed and lay back down.

"There's no point now." I said and lay back down on my bed.
