When Sam asked you to meet his family, you were beyond nervous. You'd only been dating him for about five months, but you knew how important his family is to him. For him to ask you to meet them was a lot, even if he didn't say that. You were worried out of your mind, scared that if you said or did the wrong thing, Sam would realize you didn't have a place in his family and leave you heartbroken.

So, when he drove up to the dock where the family boat, the Paul & Darlene, was, you were practically shaking, trying to hold it together and not reveal just how terrified you were. Instead, you smiled up at him as he wrapped his arm around you, leading you over to his sister and her two kids, telling you about how amazing they all are.

"Took you long enough," Sarah laughed as the kids ran over to Sam. He let go of you to embrace his nephews, the sight bringing a more genuine smile to your face. "I'm Sarah, and that's Cass and AJ," she said, pointing to each kid. "It's so nice to meet you."

"It's great to meet you, too," you said. "Glad I finally have, 'cause Sam never shuts up about how I need to meet you guys."

"Likewise. Pretty sure he called right after your first date, saying how he needed Mom's engagement ring 'cause he's met his future wife."

The comment made your heart swell. Though you hadn't been dating Sam for the longest time, you loved that he saw a future with you.

"Is that so?" you smiled.

"Mhm, and I can see why. I don't remember the last time I've seen him this happy."

Your smile only grew as Sam and the boys came over, Sam slinging his arm over your shoulder, saying, "Alright, who's ready to catch some fish?"
