A long time ago, dragons ruled the world until the humans came. The dragons foresaw that revealing themselves to the humans would result in a gruesome war so they hid themselves away. The dragons knew that hiding wouldn't do much good, but trying to communicate with the humans wouldn't be any better.
As time passes by, an interesting bloodline forms. One where the dragons can shift into humans and hide among the population. In this family there was a mother, father, older brother, and a newborn boy. While the mother was off to her work duties as a doctor, she overheard a boy who had a disease that will prevent him from living over the age of 20. Feeling pity, she decided to find the Blue Spider Lily to give to the doctor to make the medicine. When she did find it however, the doctor was dead and the boy became a demon. So the mother used the Blue spider Lily to make an antidote, a sort of vaccine to prevent the demon's blood to change them to demons. Sadly, only one antidote could have been made with the Blue Spider Lily. The family decided to give the antidote to the newborn, so he could continue the bloodline. 5 years pass by and demons now roam the land. The dragon family was attacked by a group of strong demons, catching the family off guard. Unfortunately, the element of surprise was the only thing they needed to complete their mission and kill the dragon family. Little did they know, two of the family members escaped and ran as far as they could...
5 year old (Y/N) POV:
I'm being carried by my older brother as our house became smaller and smaller until all I could see were blurred trees. I turned around and looked at him. He looks... tired.
"What's wrong brother? Why isn't mother and father following us?"
He looked at me with a look I've never seen before and said,"They won't be able to follow us, (Y/N)... They... they won't..."
He started to slow down as warm tears started to fall down his face. I didn't like to see my older brother cry so I hugged him gently. He hugged me back tighter, feeling his warm tears hit my back, wetting my garments, but I didn't mind. After a while of quiet hugging, my older brother and I kept walking through the forest, holding each other's hand.
We came to an old shabby cabin that was abandoned. My brother told me to wait outside while he checks inside. I sat down on the soft grass as I waited. Bored, I looked around for something interesting to turn my attention to. In the corner of my eyes, I saw something on its side, lying on the ground. I creeped quietly to take a closer look and saw it was a baby bird! It must have fallen from its nest. The baby bird looked interesting. It's growing feathers were a bit shiny, reflecting the moon's light. I looked up to nearby trees to see if I could find the nest anywhere, but couldn't find any.
"(Y/N)! Come inside now! I cleaned the place up a bit, but for now let us rest"
"Alright!"
I gently picked up the baby bird and brought it with me inside the cabin. As I walked in the room we were going to sleep in, there were two tattered mats with two old rags. I looked at my brother, he gave me an apologetic look, I just smiled back at him,
"It's alright"
I jogged over to one of the mats, moved the rag, and laid down carefully not to drop the bird. My brother followed as he laid down on the other mat. I focused my energy to make my hands warm so the baby bird wouldn't be cold during the night. I looked at the feathers it was growing and decided to name it Akito, meaning bright. I stared at my new found friend and slowly drifted off to sleep...
