This is a story about the grandson of a certain man with the nickname "Strawberry"

It was the 16th day after Asahi Kurosaki's 16th birthday when strange things started to happen around town- at least, to him.

The day began as a seemingly normal day to Asahi Kurosaki as he was headed towards his school, similarly to pretty much everyday, strolling through the same streets, greeting the exact same people, yet there was a churning feeling in his stomach, something about this day had been ticking him off- causing a bothersome anxiety to flow within. He'd arrived at school on time and went to class as usual.

"Hey, Asahi!" Asahi's childhood friend, Hotaru Abarai exclaimed after noticing him.

"Whatcha doin?" She asked. She asked him the same question on pretty much a daily basis, sitting in the exact same seat as usual and all. However, Asahi still felt that same ominous feeling, the one that sent a shiver down his spine- as if he were about to walk into trouble at any given moment.

"Eh, nothing much, just going to sit down," Asahi replied. His eyes then widened, he believed he had just seen a glimpse of something next to Hotaru.

"Hey, Asahi?.. Earth to Asahi!" Asahi was staring into the distance near Hotaru, jaw agape and eyes wide. He definitely thought that he saw something but just couldn't put his finger on it- besides, it wasn't even there anymore! Yet, he couldn't manage to shake the feeling that something was off.

As class began, the teacher announced some news to the students. "Today, I'll be introducing our new assistant teacher, Daku Fujisawa. He'll be working here from now on, so be nice to him!"

Nobody really paid that much attention to him since he wasn't anything special to them. The day continued on as normal, but the strange thing that had appeared next to Hotaru earlier still confused Asahi, and so he'd ponder about it all day- not even paying attention in class. That's when the teacher noticed his lack of attention and would call on him.

"Ahem, MR. KUROSAKI! What are you daydreaming about? Would you like to discuss it with the rest of the class?" The class sniggered, but the lesson continued on until school concluded for the day, and Asahi walked back home. He ate dinner and headed up to his room. He felt oddly tired that day and passed out on his bed.

"Asahi...." A spooky voice resounded.

"Asahi!" Asahi suddenly opened his eyes, yet despite that he wasn't in his room...or even in his town. Asahi looked all over the place yet all he could see was darkness surrounding him from every direction. He felt as if he walked for days in this darkness. Until suddenly there was a burst of blinding light that shook his body down to his soul. When he regained his sight a scythe was in front of him. The scythe was a glossy black with golden vein-like lines running throughout the blade. Asahi stared at the blade, feeling a sense of familiarity from it. He tried to reach out his long, slender arm towards it but it retreated. He stared at himself in the blade. His short silver hair contrasted well against the shining black scythe. He desperately wanted to take the scythe into his hands, but it was escaping him. It faded into the distance and Asahi closed his eyes to find that he was awake in the real world again.

All he could think was, "what was that? Why did it feel so familiar? I've never seen a real weapon, let alone touched one." These thoughts haunted him throughout the day. It being a sunday, he met up with Hotaru.

"Hey, uhhhh, Hotaru?" Asahi asked curiously.

"Yeah, what's up Asahi?"

"Can I tell you about a strange dream I had?"

"Ok...but why do you remember it? People forget dreams very easily." She looked confused.

"That's what's confusing. It just felt...so...real." Hotaru was wearing an odd expression as he said this.

"I saw this scythe...it wasn't normal, it felt so familiar. Like it had been with me my entire life right by my side. It was black with odd bright streaks that ran along the blade. When I tried to grab it, it escaped my grasp. No matter how long or how fast I tried to grab it, the scythe just escaped," Hotaru had this odd expression on her face. It had a bit of fear, shock, and joy. It was truly confusing to Asahi, but he would soon understand why she wore it.
