Destiny place

Chapter 2

Grace came down stairs with her suitcase, today was the day she would be going to Earth. Melissa and her step father Ryan were waiting for her in the car to take her to the portal that connects their world to Earth. Her siblings were all waiting for her at the door. Only two of them could come since the others didn't fit in the car so she hugged goodbye to the others. In tears, she started to walk away looking at the floor, and before she entered the car, she looked one last time at her sobbing siblings not knowing when she was going to see them again. Even though they drove her crazy, they were her air and she didn't know how to breathe without them.

She got in the middle seat of the car, next to her older brother Aiden and older sister Alexis. Out of all the siblings, they were the ones she was closest with. Aiden was 17 and Alexis 18 so there wasn't a lot of age difference. When her biological father left and she couldn't sleep at night, she used to go to Aiden's bed and he would tell her bedtime stories until she'd fall asleep. Ever since, Aiden and her have had this special bond that nobody or nothing could break. With Alexis it was different, she was like her best friend. They would always pull pranks on their siblings, go shopping together and do dance routines.

It was a 30 minute ride to the portal, she could flash there but she wanted to have more time with her family. Nobody knew what to say, they just sat there in silence holding each other's hand until they arrived. Grace got out of the car and Ryan got her suitcase, Melissa looked at her daughter and they held each other's gaze for seconds until Melissa said:

-Even though we won't see each other for a month, we will be there honey. I know this is scary but there's nothing to worry about, Mr Hunt said that they are a very good family and they will take very good care of you.

-What if I can't find the portal back home?- Grace said while she started sobbing.
-Then you call Aiden, you have his address, he'll help you.- Answered Melissa holding her daughter's face.
-Mom I'm going to miss you so much, I don't know what I will do without you.
-You don't have to worry about that, it will go by fast. I have a gift for you. Take this box.- Melissa handed her a cute pink fluffy box.
-What's inside it?
-They are letters from your siblings, me and Ryan. You can only open one letter a day, they are letters with advice, with fun facts, games and holiday letters in case we can't be together for christmas. You know, the other day I heard a sentence about family, what was it? Oh yeah I remember, families are like stars, even though you may not always see them, you know they are there.
-I love you. Thank you so much mom. I will read the letters I promise- Said Grace while hugging Melissa.
-I love you too baby girl.

Grace turned to Ryan. Even though he was his step father they had a father-daughter relationship. He was trying to hold back tears. Grace just looked at him, the words didn't come out so she just hugged him.
-I'm gonna miss you kiddo, who is gonna back me up when your mother won't let us go eat Burger Queen?- Asked Ryan.
-You better not break our tradition. Every 5th of every month we have dinner together at Burger Queen, remember? This month I'll try to go to this place Henry told me there's on Earth very similar to Burger Queen. I still want you to go.
-I will.
-Promise?-Asked Grace.
-I promise you- Answered Ryan with a smile.
Ryan then went to Melissa's side and put an arm around her in hopes to comfort her wife. Alexis got out of the car and stood in front of her sister.

-I'm not very good at goodbye's- Said Alexis.
-Well that's okay because this isn't a goodbye. In a month you'll have me back.- Said Grace while faking a smile.
-I'm gonna prepare a whole bunch of pranks to do when you get back- Alexis said while laughing and crying at the same time.
Grace held Alexis hand, while looking at her she smiled and said:
-I can't wait.
Alexis hugged Grace and kissed her forehead.
-I Love you so much- Said Alexis.
-I Love you too- Said Grace
Aiden then came and Grace looked at him trying to hold back the tears.
-I don't know what I'm going to do without you- She said while a tear started to roll out of her cheek.
-It's okay. Like you said, In a month you'll be back. And hey don't worry, if there's any point where you truly need me just press this button, I'll get a notification and I'll manage to find you. I'm willing to break the rules for you. I won't let anything happen to you ok?- Said Aiden.
