"I'm going to need you to stay late to finish this up"

Oh hell to the no.

"Can't it wait till tomorrow?" I questioned

Lucas's eyes remained on the screen in front of him as he typed away. He wasn't exactly a bad guy but I still held some distaste for him.

"It's not like you have a social life anyway" Derek piped up.

I shot him a glare but refused to waste my breath arguing with him.

"I need it complete for tomorrow, but I've got plans" Lucas finally answered.

He stood from his desk and began grabbing his belongings. I watched in silent annoyance. He grabbed keys from his coat pocket and slung them my way.

"Lock up" he stated before sauntering past me.

I slumped into the chair as I heard the last bang of the door which indicated that the last person had left. Now it was just me and these huge piles of papers.

I knew it was better to start immediately so I could get home as quick as possible. It wasn't like I had any plans but the less time I spent in this place, the better.

I organised the papers in alphabetical order and stacked them away tidily before turning my attention to the screen of Lucas's computer.

I often finished articles for Lucas, not that I ever had any credit for it. I had wanted to be a writer when I was younger but never really found the right opportunity. Like I had said earlier, I let go of my ambitions.

I eventually managed to finish everything and I was quick to grab my coat and head out. I double checked that the door was locked before turning around.

"Jesus!" I screamed

Unfortunately, it wasn't actually Jesus.

Leaning casually against his car with one leg crossed over the other was the same mystery guy from this morning. What the hell was he doing here?

The black coat he wore earlier was gone, now he was wearing a black pants and a black shirt that was rolled up revealing his forearms.

His hair was more tussled and his eyebrows arched as he stared at me. The dark surrounding made him look dangerous but sexy at the same time.

What am I thinking?

"Can I help you?" I finally spoke up once my nerves had calmed.

I tried to look confident but I felt nothing of the sort. Just his presence put me on edge.

Suddenly he took huge steps towards me and I could feel the power radiating off him. I managed to stand my ground as he stopped in front of me.

He lowered his head slightly before speaking.

"Are you ready to make a deal with the fucking devil?"

"What?"

A gentle touch appeared on my cheek. I noted how soft the skin of his hand felt against my face. I didn't know whether to pull away or nestle in to the touch.

Instead I did neither.

"That wasn't a no"

His thumb slid against my jaw until it reached my chin, then he angled my face up higher towards his.

"You have three seconds..."

My mind was in a haze.

"three..."

I bit my lip.

"Fuck it"

His lips crushed to mine and I felt my eyes uncontrollably close. It only took him seconds to control my mouth.

His one hand slid into my hair and I felt a slight tug causing me to gasp which only allowed him more entrance.

All of a sudden, realization kicked in and I realized what was happening. I was kissing a complete stranger that had waited outside my works.

I quickly pulled back.

"What the fuck!" I exclaimed

He looked at me as if he was in some sort of shock himself.

"What?" he asked

"You kissed me"

"and you kissed me"

I scrunched my brows in annoyance.

"Why did you kiss me?"

"Why did you kiss me?"

"Because you kissed me first!" I stated while jabbing his chest

He stayed quiet for a moment before a smirk appeared on his face.

"are we going to carry this on at my place or what, Callie?"

Then I slapped him.

I didn't wait to see if I left a mark because I took off past him immediately after my hand made contact with his cheek.
